As an ASX listed organisation, Working Systems Solutions Ltd. (WSS), could not afford for its payroll function to be disconnected from its main accounting activities.
Until contacting Sage, WSS was using a small business ‘off-the-shelf’ payroll package to handle all of its accounting activities. But, with 53 staff today, the organisation had simply outgrown the small business solution. Leave accruals were particularly difficult to track, and balances per employee had to be re-checked monthly. As a result, the company estimates that the payroll function used to account for nearly 50 percent of his workload.
WSS’s searched for an alternative mid-market payroll management solution that would support its rapid growth, make the payroll function more efficient and enable a more integrated and strategic approach to payroll management.
Sage MicrOpay was a perfect fit as it’s designed for medium-sized Australian organisations that are well established or are growing quickly.
WWS’s Payroll Manager’s payroll related activities have since been reduced to just 20 percent of his workload, which has freed him up to focus on more strategic business activities such as business analysis and forecasting.
