Sage is introducing its innovative 2+2+2 community model across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands
Orange Sky Laundry selected as the first major partner for Sage Foundation in Australia
Sydney, Australia, February 18, 2016 – Sage, the market leader for integrated accounting, payroll and payment systems, today launched the Sage Foundation across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands at the Sage Connect 2016 conference, being held at Australian Technology Park in Sydney, Australia.
The global Foundation sets a new benchmark for corporate partnerships with charities, social enterprises and non-profit organisations through its 2+2+2 model for working with the community. Under this unique model, Sage is committed to giving 2% of employee time (five days paid volunteering per year), 2% of free cash flow and 2 donated software licences to eligible registered charities, social enterprises and non-profit organisations. Throughout the year, the Foundation will go live in all of the 23 countries Sage operates in.
Ivan Epstein, Chairman of Sage Foundation and President for Sage International, said: “The Sage Foundation is committed to transforming lives by investing our time, money, expertise and technology to create sustainable social and economic opportunity in our local communities around the world. We are passionate about people and helping those who live along side us, it’s our privilege and honour to serve them.”
Yesterday, Alan Osrin, Managing Director of Sage Australia, along with a group of Sage volunteers assisted with the launch of their first national partnership with Orange Sky Laundry through hosting a helping hand service for the homeless in Woolloomooloo. This hub was the first major initiative for the Sage Foundation in Australia and saw the Sage Foundation partnering with Orange Sky Laundry, as well as One Meal - it makes a difference, to host this service, which delivered both free laundry services, as well as a hot breakfast.
Orange Sky Laundry was chosen by the Sage Foundation as their vision, mission and approach to helping a disadvantaged group in local communities aligns closely with the core charter of the Sage Foundation. However, they were also selected as Sage strongly believes in supporting the entrepreneurial approach of these two 21-year-old Australians and their teams, who are truly trying to make a difference through a unique, inspiring and world-first service of its kind.
This event represents just the beginning of the Orange Sky Laundry and Sage partnership. Next steps of the partnership include Orange Sky Laundry and Sage establishing a long term plan which will involve the Foundation supporting them through utilising all aspects of the 2+2+2 model. Sage will provide time through an on-going volunteer commitment, financial support, in addition to providing business mentoring and software to support Orange Sky Laundry’s growth ambition not only locally but on an international basis.
Through the Sage Foundation, Sage Employees will be encouraged to participate in five days of volunteering per year in their local communities. Their activities will be focused on young people as well as the socially and economically disadvantaged sectors of the community and developing social enterprise, entrepreneurism and skills training. Sage Foundation will also award quarterly grants to worthy causes in the local community.
“The Sage Foundation is not just targeting one-off events with charities, social enterprises and non-profit organisations. Rather we are looking to establish long term multi-faceted partnerships to really deliver on the Sage Foundation charter and 2+2+2 model to make a sustainable positive impact in our community,” said Alan Osrin, Managing Director of Sage Australia.
