14 June 2017, SYDNEY: Sage Software Australia, has released Sage ESS, a new cloud-based employee self-service application that integrates with Australia’s most popular payroll solution*, Sage MicrOpay.

The locally developed product includes functionality that addresses many of the unique HR and payroll requirements of Australian legislation.  It is an easy to use and visually appealing application that gives employees and managers self-service access to update their personal and banking details, check pay advice and apply for, approve or track leave.

Sage ESS is a scalable and flexible solution suitable for organisations of all sizes and across any industry.

“Allowing employees to access their data in a self-serve model ensures that the HR team is no longer bombarded with emails, calls and employee ‘walk-ins’ seeking answers to simple questions. By using Sage ESS, the HR department is free to focus on strategic work such as talent management and training,” said country Vice President Sage Australia, Alan Osrin.

Because it is built for the cloud, users can access Sage ESS from wherever they are and on whatever device they choose.

Sage ESS integrates seamlessly with Sage MicrOpay and helps equip organisations to manage their payroll in-house conveniently and securely.

Real-time Dashboard and Automated Leave Management  

Sage ESS gives users quick access to information such as leave entitlements, up-coming leave, team members on leave, employee directory and their latest pay advice through a real-time dashboard. Managers receive instant email notifications for any leave request.

From application to approval to processing, leave workflows in Sage ESS make it easy to manage leave. When an employee submits a leave request, an email notification is sent to the manager for them to approve or reject. Once leave is approved, leave details are then transferred to Sage MicrOpay to be processed.

Simplified Workflows

The workflow feature in Sage ESS offers a simple wizard-based setup process. People Business Partners can add exceptions for leave approvals when a user submits an annual leave or a long service leave. They can also receive email notifications when any profile changes such as bank accounts, contact details and medical conditions are made. Sage ESS comes with a simple pre-set workflow, which allows managers to approve leave requests by default.

Paperless Pay Advices and Payment Summaries

Sage ESS removes the need to print or email pay advice and payment summaries, delivering cost benefits and increased efficiency. Pay advice and payment summaries are generated in Sage MicrOpay and seamlessly transferred to Sage ESS for employees to view and download after each pay.
