ATO Assistant Commissioner, Colin Walker, Confirmed for Sage Sessions in Sydney and Melbourne
Sage Sessions – our biggest free event of the year – is fast approaching.
25 January 2018
One of the highlights for accountants attending in Sydney and Melbourne will be Colin Walker, Assistant Commissioner for Practitioner Risk & Consultation at the ATO.
Colin will provide updates on interacting with the ATO through practice software and what it means to agents. He will also provide insights about the ATO’s Practitioner Lodgment Service (PLS).
Colin brings a wealth of experience to Sage Sessions, having joined the ATO in 1975. He also served at the International Monetary Fund, where he provided technical assistance in Tax and Customs Policy and Administration in many developing countries.
Since 2002, Colin has served as an Assistant Commissioner at the ATO, where he has worked on significant business and individual legislation projects including Consolidation, the Review of International Tax, the Childcare Rebate, the Minerals Resource Rent Tax, and the extension of the Petroleum Resource Rent Tax. He has also driven the use of design at the ATO, led tax legislation interpretation areas, and is currently responsible for the ATO’s relationship with tax practitioners and other intermediaries in the tax and superannuation system.
