I’m proud to say that our inaugural Sage Summit Australia was an outstanding success, with over 500 Sage customers and partners attending the event in Melbourne on 2-3 March.
It was a tremendous two days for our customers, partners, and all the hardworking Sage colleagues who organised and ran the event. For me personally, there were many highlights. Here’s a few of the best:
1. Demonstrating innovative technology
A key theme of the Summit was Sage’s “Invisible Admin” vision, which aims to eliminate manual admin for entrepreneurs and business builders by 2020. With AI and bots playing a big part in realising our vision, we were excited to host a demonstration of Sage’s admin bot Pegg – a smart assistant that allows users to track expenses via their chosen messaging app. The demonstration gave attendees a firsthand look at how Pegg can help business builders remove the complexities of accounting and manage finances through conversation.
2. Showcasing new Sage products
With many in attendance eagerly awaiting news of Sage’s new cloud-based products, we were excited to host a demonstration of Sage People, our fast and flexible Human Capital Management Solution, and Sage Live, our powerful, customisable, and cost-effective cloud accounting solution. Sage People is now available in Australia and Sage Live is set for release in April.
3. Best practice and thought leadership sessions
It was great to see so many taking advantage of our product and thought leadership breakout sessions. Those in attendance gained invaluable knowledge about the latest Sage product advancements, tips for getting the most out of them, as well as thought leadership insights into accounting and business trends.
4. Inspiring guest speakers
We could not have had two more inspirational guest speakers than Janine Allis, Founder and Executive Director of Boost Juice Bars, and Liz Ellis, one of Australia’s highest profile athletes and broadcasters. Janine’s tale of her life and journey building her juice empire provided many lessons for the business builders in attendance. Liz was also fantastic and gave our partners a very entertaining and motivational presentation at our partner awards night.
5. Giving back to the community
And finally, our Big Give fundraising program saw three fantastic charities – Fitted for Work, White Lion, and Girls in Tech – ‘pitch’ their causes to our customers and partners, who later voted for their favoured charity to take home the largest share of a $15,000 donation. It was a great opportunity for each charity to spread awareness of their cause and raise some well-deserved funds.
