Sage’s Diversity & Inclusion Philosophy
At Sage we’re passionate about enabling all colleagues to be themselves at work and develop a great career here, supporting our customers and their dreams. We believe that diversity of thought and equal opportunity in our high performance culture drives genuine innovation, a core Sage value and crucial to living the Sage Way.
A diverse workforce brings a broader range of perspectives, and drives innovation. It enables us to better understand our colleagues, customers and partners. Having a colleague demographic similar to our customer demographic means we can understand our customers better and create amazing products and services.

Supporting Diversity and Inclusion
We start at the top
Our CEO and Executive Committee are all advocates for our Diversity and Inclusion Program. Our top 30 leaders are actively involved in our Diversity and Inclusion initiatives.
Building the Foundations
To ensure equal opportunity is given to all colleagues and potential colleagues regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, gender, or disability, our global diversity and inclusion policy is accessible for all our colleagues to see.
Diversity and Inclusion Action Groups
We have action groups covering the 23 countries we operate in. Their role is to actively support our diversity agenda, identify country priorities, and engage with Sage colleagues to make a difference.
We launched our [email protected] Mentoring Program in 2016. Our Mentors are 50% male and 50% female and come from across our organization and include all of our Executive Committee. Although this formal initiative is aimed at women at Sage, informal mentoring already happens across the business every day and we have designed guidance, training and tools to equip mentors and mentees with the skills they need.
Unconscious Bias Training
We train our colleagues to be mindful of unconscious bias so everyone in our business understands how they can overcome bias and make objective decisions in the workplace.
Women in Technology
We’re committed to increasing the number of women in Leadership and Technology roles in Sage. We work with schools and universities supporting the STEM agenda. We ensure our recruitment processes and apprenticeship programmes attract a broad range of candidates. Our Women’s Mentoring Programme supports our objective to increase the number of women in Leadership and Technology roles to 35% by 2018.
We measure our gender diversity, and are committed to increase the number of women in Technology and Leadership roles to 35% by 2018.
2017 will see a focus on understanding our colleagues better around ethnicity, disability and LGBT so we can focus our efforts to get better diversity in these areas too.
