Sage 300 Business Management Solution helps Petroleum Agency SA to tighten controls and streamline procurement

30 September 2016

Petroleum Agency SA has implemented Sage 300  with the fully integrated procurement system developed by AccTech Systems, a certified Sage Development Partner, called AccTech Business Process Management System to automate its business processes and increase efficiencies. AWCape served as the consulting and implementation partner for the project.

The Petroleum Agency implemented the new solution to replace its manual processes with an automated system that would offer higher levels of transparency, efficiency and control. The AccTech Business Process Management System is tightly integrated with the Agency’s Sage 300 accounting software, eliminating the need to recapture data or recalculate accruals.

Says Petroleum Agency SA Procurement Officer, Bongiwe Fikizolo: “Sage and AWCape have delivered a fully-integrated order and accounting system that is already providing significant benefits to Petroleum Agency SA. The business solution simplifies our processes, gives us a full audit trail, enables us to tighten governance further and improves monthly processes as well as reporting.”

The system automates the procurement processes from checks to approvals to payment, and gives the Petroleum Agency’s team online access to financial information when they need it. The easy-to-use solution allows users to easily search for and monitor requisitions. Top managers, meanwhile, love the fact that they can access the system from their mobile devices.

The Sage 300 integrated procurement solution captures a full audit trail and applies clear rules for tasks such as ordering, payment of creditors, and the application of limits of authority. The Vendor Relationship Management (VRM) component of the system allows vendors to update their details such as BEE, bank details, company details and pricing through a self-service portal.

Comments AWCape Managing Director Cornel Smit: “It’s a world-class solution that automates most finance processes via a web interface. Petroleum Agency SA users don’t even know that they are indirectly accessing the powerful back-office Sage 300 accounting system.”

“As the global market leader of integrated accounting, payroll and payment systems, we have become an indispensable business partner to organisations like Petroleum Agency SA,” says Jeremy Waterman, Managing Director, Sage Northern Africa & Middle East. “The future is mobile and we are giving our customers the power to control their businesses from the palm of their hand through solutions like Sage 300.”
