By 2030, the shortfall is forecast to increase to 2.2 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The study also reveals almost three-quarters of Australian&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sage.com\/en-au\/blog\/glossary\/what-is-the-c-suite\/\">c-suite<\/a>&nbsp;executives believe their companies are safe from the talent crunch, predicting that by 2030 there will either be sufficient or surplus skilled talent in Australia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, Korn Ferry argues Australian business leaders are misinterpreting the value of technology in filling this skills shortage. However it won\u2019t replace people entirely \u2013 there are too many human attributes we just can\u2019t do without.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to the technical skills required to manage and engage with new technology, soft skills like creativity, communication, and problem solving are predicted to become increasingly critical. <mark class=\"highlight-and-share\">Research by Deloitte reveals soft skill intensive occupations are expected to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.challengeconsulting.com.au\/announcements\/soft-skill-intensive-professions-to-make-up-63-of-australias-job-market-in-2030\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">account for 63 percent of all jobs in Australia<\/a> by 2030.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The World Economic Forum \u2018Future of Jobs\u2019 report reveals the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.weforum.org\/agenda\/2016\/01\/the-10-skills-you-need-to-thrive-in-the-fourth-industrial-revolution\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">top skills workers will need in 2020<\/a>, including complex problem solving, critical thinking, and creativity. While LinkedIn research reveals <a href=\"https:\/\/business.linkedin.com\/talent-solutions\/blog\/trends-and-research\/2018\/the-most-in-demand-hard-and-soft-skills-of-2018\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the most in-demand soft skills for 2019<\/a> are creativity, persuasion, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sage.com\/en-au\/blog\/glossary\/what-is-collaboration\/\">collaboration<\/a>, adaptability, and time management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The value of soft skills isn\u2019t lost on Australian business leaders.
