New and old—Know your clients’ choice of workspace in home deduction before they do

In true Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) style, an attempt to simplify the rules around working from home and the associated eligible expenses and tax credits has led to several options from which your clients can choose. Before your clients flood you with questions on whether they should go with option #1, #2, or #3 to claim their workspace in home deductions, join this session. James Rhodes and Rachel Fisch are back once again to review the CRA’s new options and discuss those in context of the existing option. They will also discuss considerations for the employer on both reimbursements and allowances to employees. If you are a Canadian accountant, bookkeeper, or tax preparer, you won’t want to miss this!

Avoiding common mistakes when dealing with the CRA

Increasing the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) is asking or even demanding information from clients’ bookkeepers and accountants. Do you know what you are, or are not, required to provide to the CRA? Mistakes can result in not only losing your client but being liable to them for damages. In this webinar, we will provide you with a framework to understand what you are legally entitled to provide to the CRA as well as giving tips to help you avoid you or your office inadvertently making mistakes when dealing with the CRA.

Top audit mistakes made on behalf of clients

While your clients are ultimately responsible for the correctness of what they have claimed as revenue and expenses, some Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) audit adjustments are preventable at the bookkeeping and accounting level. In this webinar, we will provide you with our experience of preventable audit mistakes that you can train yourself to identify and save the client from committing before the CRA audits.
