Recognise hard work<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Recognising the work of your employees is not simply achieved through pay rises or bonuses. It can also be accomplished by saying thank you when a job is done well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Surprisingly, many people who have left their job in favour of a new position have taken a pay cut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The salary is less important than benefits, rewards and a positive work environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/greatergood.berkeley.edu\/article\/item\/five_ways_for_workplaces_to_support_employee_happiness\">Research shows<\/a> that employees the receive recognition feel like their work matters and if they feel like their work matters then they are happier with their job and less likely to quit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is a winning situation for the employer and the employee alike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It doesn\u2019t cost much to send a thank you email or recognise an employee\u2019s work with a \u2018thank you\u2019 in person, but the rewards for your company can be immense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"give-anchor-link\">2. Bush<\/a> uses Four Seasons as an example and says \u201cThey have magnificent properties all around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;And their employees are told, &#8220;Do whatever you think is right when servicing the customer.&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;To hand that trust to your employees to do whatever they think is right makes the employees feel great. And this is why they&#8217;re known for delivering some of the best service in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/issuu.com\/cmi_\/docs\/management_transformed\">A November 2020 study by the Chartered Management Institute<\/a> found that trust was the key to productivity during the pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Whether employees were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sage.com\/en-gb\/blog\/help-employees-work-from-home\/\">working from home<\/a> or in the office, productivity was high when they were trusted by management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Why does productivity go up when employees feel trusted?
