pushed aside by life, family and financial security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But not for Tricia Jordan. It was the risk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cLife&#8217;s too short to live with what ifs,\u201d she says. \u201cI always had something to go back to, but luckily, it&#8217;s just gone from strength to strength.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That determination paid off. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today, she can&#8217;t imagine going back to working for someone else. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt&#8217;s not like having a job,\u201d she says. \u201cIt&#8217;s like going to meet friends. It never feels like I&#8217;m in work.\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"built-on-trust\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Built on trust, not marketing budgets<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Newport&#8217;s aesthetics market was already well established when Tricia started, so rather than compete on marketing, she leaned on relationships. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Friends, family and neighbouring businesses brought her first clients, and word of mouth did the rest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That trust comes from putting clients first, even when it costs her business. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIf someone isn&#8217;t suitable for a treatment, I&#8217;ll tell them,\u201d, she says. \u201cI&#8217;m ethical, and one thing that&#8217;d be good for one person wouldn&#8217;t be good for someone else.\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That honesty has built real loyalty over time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lauren, a long-term client, says trust is the main reason she keeps coming back, having tried a number of other practitioners before settling on Maldiva Aesthetics. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cShe&#8217;s always absolutely smashed the objective,\u201d Lauren says. \u201cI&#8217;ve never had that with anyone else.\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"clinic-rooted-in-newport\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">A clinic rooted in Newport<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ask Tricia what makes Newport special and she won&#8217;t mention landmarks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She&#8217;ll talk about the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThere\u2019s a great community spirit here,&#8221; she says. &#8220;My shop, there\u2019s a hair salon next door, a dog-groomer next door to that\u2014we\u2019re always in and out of each other\u2019s shops!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That spirit runs through Maldiva Aesthetics\u2019 ties to Newport County AFC. It started small: her children joined the club&#8217;s Soccer Tots programme as toddlers, and then followed years of matchdays, away days\u2014plus, her sons&#8217; experiences as club mascots turned into a family passion. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt&#8217;s more like a family,\u201d she says. \u201cEveryone knows everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Those years pitch side also led Tricia to befriend several players\u2014friendships that grew into Maldiva&#8217;s sister service, Oxy House, and its hyperbaric oxygen therapy chamber, now used by local footballers to support recovery and wellbeing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The clinic also supports the Smile Council, a Newport County-connected charity, and has backed a fundraiser for former player Jason Bowen, who has motor neurone disease. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt&#8217;s good to get recognition for doing charitable work, but it&#8217;s not the reason why we do it,\u201d Tricia says. \u201cIt&#8217;s like a warm feeling, isn&#8217;t it; being able to help people.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"getting-time-back\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Getting time back with Sage<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Growing the business brought its own challenges. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As Maldiva expanded, Tricia had to move from sole trader to limited company, get to grips with VAT, and keep on top of her books, all while running a full client diary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI had an accountant who wasn&#8217;t very forthcoming, and I&#8217;m not great at admin,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIf I&#8217;d had the Sage accounting system from the start, I wouldn&#8217;t have ended up in the mess I was in.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Late nights spent entering receipts and updating spreadsheets were eating into the time she&#8217;d rather spend with clients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With Sage now capturing and organising her business information automatically, that admin time has dropped and her financial picture is clearer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cSage is helping me get more time back,\u201d she says. \u201cI&#8217;ve got more time to spend with my family and actually have days off.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Final thoughts: Looking ahead<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since launching Maldiva Aesthetics in 2019, Tricia has built a clinic with more than 1,300 loyal clients, and with Sage handling the numbers, she&#8217;s now preparing to take on her first employee and look at larger premises. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But ask her what she&#8217;s proudest of, and it isn&#8217;t the clinic itself\u2014it&#8217;s the community she&#8217;s built around it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As one client puts it: \u201cI just keep coming back because of Tricia.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That&#8217;s the kind of trust every business hopes to build.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"single-cta\">\n\t<div class=\"single-cta__positioner on-scroll-highlight__target\">\n\t\t<div class=\"single-cta__wrapper has-dark-background-color\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"single-cta__content\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"single-cta__title h3\">The businesses behind the badge<\/h2>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"single-cta__description\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>Want to discover your local heroes of the English Football League?
