The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/statutory-sick-pay\">amount is regularly adjusted<\/a> by the UK government. It can be paid for up to 28 weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SSP is the minimum that must be paid, although companies can offer more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SSP entitlement usually starts after employees are sick for at least four <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sage.com\/en-gb\/blog\/alternative-employee-benefits-offer-staff\/\">consecutive days<\/a>, including non-working days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<div
