is the technical term describing how one software package connects to another to transfer data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the context of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sage.com\/en-gb\/blog\/making-tax-digital\/\">Making Tax Digital<\/a> (MTD), HMRC use the term to describe the way software packages connect to their systems for the purposes of MTD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In other words, all <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sage.com\/en-gb\/blog\/making-tax-digital-for-vat\/\">Making Tax Digital<\/a>-compatible software will utilise HMRC\u2019s
