investing in websites, building teams and trying to raise investments, put all that to one side and ask yourself one simple question:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"\">\u201cHave you validated the need for your product or service with your prospective customer market?\u201d<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"\">Until they tell you that what you want to provide solves the need they\u2019d be willing to pay for repeatedly, all you\u2019ve got is a very expensive hobby.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"think\">Think about the team\u00a0<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"\">Do you really need 100 people now?<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"\">Or do you need enough people to get you to the next level, so you can invest heavily in the team for growth and scale?<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"\">This is crucial to note as every additional team member brings the need for more costs, more time, and more need for processes and systems in your organisation, which add weight to your business.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"how\">How will you measure your success?\u00a0<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"\">Measuring your success is really important. Often, we do this by cash flow and profitability.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"\">However, what are the things you\u2019re doing in your business that are working towards this?<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"\">Have a think about what you\u2019re tracking on a daily\/weekly\/monthly\/annual basis.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"make\">Make changes for the future\u00a0<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"\">In terms of future growth, make sure you\u2019re adaptable to the changing needs of your customer and target market, and make sure you\u2019re aligning your resources with that change.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"consider\">Consider the value and pace of your work<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"\">Think about pace and value.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"\">You want to create great value that enables your business to grow at a fast pace. These could be friends, colleagues or advisers. This can involve a lot of questions, which can be a lot to handle.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"\">Bobby shares his thoughts to guide you through these\u2026\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"building\">Building a team<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"\">Surround yourself with the right team. People who are incredibly talented, bright and who have different skill sets to you.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"\">You\u2019re looking for people at different levels who can really help you build that business, matching the vision you have.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"measuring\">Measuring success<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"\">To measure the success of your business it really depends on what you\u2019re looking for.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"\">Is it growth?<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"\">Is it profit?<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"\">Some people are just looking for a new way of working or a better work life and finding that balance.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"\">Success is very tied to what you\u2019re looking for in your business.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"planning\">Planning for future growth\u00a0<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"\">To plan for future growth, you really need to do just that: plan.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"\">You need to have something that you stick to while surrounding yourself with advisers that can help you every step of the way.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"about\">Think about the money<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"\">When scaling up, you need to think about cash. Cash is king \u2013 and more so now than ever.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"\">You need to make sure you have the cash reserves there to drive the business forward. Sometimes you may have to take a step backwards to move your business forwards.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"businesses\">Businesses won\u2019t grow overnight\u00a0<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"\">Businesses don\u2019t go in a straight line \u2013 and there will be a lot of challenges ahead.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"\">You need to be prepared to pivot, move and see what you can do as things change.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"do\">Do what you love, love what you do\u2026<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"\">It\u2019s all about you being in love with what you do. You have to fall in love with what you\u2019re doing.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"\">Look at the difference in someone when they\u2019re talking about their passion \u2013 they light up.
