This saves you the hassle of manually creating journals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, you can import ledger adjustments you&#8217;ve got in a spreadsheet as journals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You may also need to regularly import totals from another system (such as point of sale or payroll) as journals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When preparing your file, you decide how journals are created for your business. Create individual journals per entry or one journal for several entries, all in the same file.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"improved-anchor-link\">Improved banking automation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019ve made it easier for you to import bank transactions in a way that suits your business. Plus, save time by applying bank rules to automatically create transactions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><u>More flexibility importing transactions<\/u><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once your statement has been uploaded you can also:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Apply bank rules to transactions to automate the process, saving you time<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bulk-delete any duplicate transactions before importing them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><u>Automate bank rules<\/u><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bank rules will automatically categorise and set details on incoming bank transactions with the conditions you choose. You can now:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Apply bank rules to bank feeds and imported transactions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Copy and import rules between accounts \u2013 no need to recreate them manually.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"multi-anchor-link\">Multi-currency banking<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019ve added to multi-currency banking* to make it easier for you to do business in other countries. You can now:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Add bank accounts in currencies other than your base currency<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select bank accounts in other currencies when creating transactions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Toggle between currencies when reviewing bank account activity<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Revaluate bank accounts, showing gains and losses<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Transfer funds between bank accounts with different currencies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Create journal entries for bank accounts in different currencies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>*Multi-currency banking is available only to Sage Accounting Plus subscribers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"payroll-anchor-link\">Sage Payroll highlights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>And here\u2019s a round-up of updates to Sage Payroll\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"taking-anchor-link\">Taking the stress out of compliance<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Sage Payroll is always set up to effectively process year end but will also have your back on any mid-year changes, such as new public holidays, and one-off recognition payments for certain sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"new-anchor-link\">New reports to help you keep on top of things<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You can use salary information from a pay run to create a <strong>Salary Journal report<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you use an accounting product, you can import the report as a journal transaction. This can save you time and reduce processing errors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re using Sage Accounting specifically, you can set up automated journals \u2013 saving even more time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Absences report<\/strong> shows you any employee time off that you&#8217;ve recorded as an absence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The report can be run for any of your employees and can show data for any time period since you started using Sage Payroll.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"engage-anchor-link\">Engage your people with payslip messages<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You can now <a href=\"https:\/\/help.accounting.sage.com\/en-ie\/payroll\/payslips-and-reports\/payslip-messages.html\">add customised messages to your employee payslips<\/a> to help communicate important information about their pay. This is useful for lots of different reasons such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Explaining a pay rise<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Telling people about new legislation that affects their pay<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wishing everyone a happy Christmas.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You can also edit payslip messages for multiple employees at the same time.
