Sage supports Jupiter Group to achieve 50% growth in turnover with Sage Business Cloud

LONDON, UK - DATE, 2018: Sage (FTSE: SGE), the market leader in cloud business management solutions today shared how they are supporting Jupiter Group to achieve 50% growth in turnover with Sage Business Cloud. With plans to grow from a £60m company to a £90m company within 12 months, Jupiter Group needed a business management solution to give them clear profit indication and that could scale with a business growing at pace.

Working in collaboration with Sage Business Partner, Datel, Sage supported Jupiter Group as it transitioned from a legacy accounting package, to implementing Sage Business Cloud Enterprise Management, to manage apportioning costs, statutory reporting and profit indication. During this period, Datel also supported Jupiter with its fast-paced growth of new offices internationally with operations powered by Sage Business Cloud Enterprise Management.

Established in 2003 with just one employee, a blank sheet of paper and a telephone, Jupiter is now one of the world’s leading fresh produce companies, delivering a year-round supply of produce, new variety development and prepared fruit as a specialism. To date, Jupiter Group is home to a global team of more than 150 staff with offices around the globe, including Chile, France, Greece, India, and South Africa with its’ headquarters still in the UK.

Enterprise Management helped Jupiter to drive productivity with efficient operations across finance, procurement and business intelligence capabilities, by giving greater access to, and control over information to deliver detailed reporting. It also ensures that the company accounts are accurate and generated monthly, as quickly as possible.

In addition, Jupiter Group, who have partnered with Sage over five years, needed to be able to control global operations from the UK hub. Sage offers one system for multiple accounts, enabling 100% control and visibility from one location. Minimising the need for user training and allowing employees to work concurrently across the globe.

Mark Tweddle, Founder and Managing Director, Jupiter Group, said: "We started a business with an accounting package that suited us at the time. But within just two years it was clear that we’d simply outgrown this solution and it wasn’t giving us the depth of information we needed. Packing fruit is a hard industry to apportion costs, man-hours and the KPI’s important to running a successful enterprise. So, we needed to find a solution that helped us maintain our momentum – Enterprise Management does just that."

Andrew Pritchard, Managing Director, Datel said: "By taking a consultative approach and listening to the needs of our customers, we recommended Enterprise Management as it meets both immediate business requirements and can scale to meet future needs. Enterprise Management allows Jupiter Group to run an efficient and profitable global business whilst preparing for the future."

Lance Gilmour, VP Partners and Enterprise, Sage commented: "By working closely with strategic partners such as Datel, we are able to deliver compelling products to our customers. We have achieved this with Jupiter Group; partners understanding implicitly what is needed by business owners and working closely to deliver the right solution that will provide return on investment, helping them future proof their business, realise their ambition and grow."
