Indonesia

1. BPJS Pension contribution maximum age is revised to 57 with effective from 1st Jan 2019, therefore the statutory BPJS contribution will be affected. New BPJS Policy (BPJS-Pensiun2019Mar) is now revised with the new age limit to comply the requirement.

The Philippines

1. SSS contribution rate is revised with effective from 1st Mar 2019, therefore the statutory SSS contribution will be affected. With this, new SSS Policy (SSSYr2019Apr) will be added to the system with the revised rate.

All active employees will be assigned to this new Policy accordingly.

Indonesia

1. Maximum wage is revised, effective from 1st Mar 2019. Therefore, the statutory BPJS contribution will be affected. New BPJS Policy (BPJS-Pensiun2019Mar) is now available with the latest revised rate to comply with the requirement.

1. Minimum wage is revised with effective from 1st Jan 2019, therefore the statutory BPJS contribution will be affected. New BPJSTK Policies for group 1 to 5 are now added to the system with the latest revised rate to comply the requirement.

Malaysia

2. Hot Fix: Issue with tax processing of EPF relief for Pay items on previous year is now resolved.

Malaysia

1. Revised Tax Rate with effective from 1st Jan 2019, foreigner is now eligible to get protection from SOCSO, and hence contribution from foreign employee to the Employment Injury under the Employees’ Social Security Act 1969(Act 4) is required.

To fulfil this requirement:

i. New progression is added for:

a) Non-Resident, for system with TaxPolicyId = NonResidentDefault

b) Resident, for system with TaxPolicyId = DefaultPolicy

ii. TP1 and TP3 forms are also updated accordingly.

iii. New SOCSO Policy (SOCSOYr2019Jan) is added

> [Pay > Setup > EPF / SOCSO / EIS Setup > EPF / SOCSO / EIS Policy Setup]

iv. All active employees will be assigned to this new Policy accordingly

> [Pay > Modules > SOCSO Progression].

v. For active foreigner without any SOCSO progression record, the system will insert a new progression with settings (Scheme and Policy) taken from the Pay Default Setup.

2. Employee SOCSO contribution is now automatically included as a rebate item in tax computation. To opt-out, untick the option of ‘To compute SOCSO Relief based on Employee SOCSO Contribution for every Sub Period’ under [Pay > Setup > Pay Process Option].

3. Revised EPF contribution for employee who is 60 years old and above with effect from 1st Jan 2019. No contribution from employee required, employer contribution reduced to 4%.

To fulfil this requirement:

i. New EPF Policy (EPFYr2019Jan) is added

[Pay > Setup > EPF / SOCSO Setup > EPF / SOCSO Setup]

ii. For those using the EPF Mandatory & Voluntary Scheme, new EPF Table records (EP19ST, EP19PR, EP19EX) are created using the same EPF Template settings as in Year 2018 with the newly revised rate.

iii. The conditions for EPF Mandatory & Voluntary Scheme are as below:

a) EPF Default Scheme in Pay Details Default Setup [Pay > Setup> Pay Details Default Setup > EPF Scheme] is set to Mandatory & Voluntary Scheme and

EPF Table Setup for Year 2018 (EP18ST, EP18PR, EP18EX) is assigned to EPE Mandatory & Voluntary Scheme and is using formula Template 1, 2 or 3.

iv. Otherwise, new EPF Table records (EP19ST, EP19PR, EP19EX) with EPF Mandatory Scheme and the revised rate will be added to the system.

v. All active employees will be assigned to this new EPF Policy accordingly.

4. Interest on housing loan is no longer eligible for the Tax Relief, and hence it is removed from Tax Relief list

This patch release includes several statutory updates required to help you stay compliant with the latest government requirements. These include:

  • Foreign employee is now eligible to get protection from SOCSO, contribution from foreign employee to the Employment Injury under the Employees’ Social Security Act 1969(Act 4) is required. TP1 and TP3 forms are updated respectively to fulfill the requirement.
