From its humble beginning in its founder’s garage, DDP Roofing Services<\/a>, Inc. has grown into one of the leading commercial roofing providers in the United States. Every day its 150+ employees are installing, inspecting, repairing, and re-roofing structures for manufacturing, industrial, and retail clients up and down the East Coast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As their business grew, so did the complexity of its accounting and business processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That\u2019s when DDP\u2019s controller, Susan Parker turned to Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate. \u201cWe have great integration now between all departments regardless of location,\u201d Susan explained. \u201cPlus, there\u2019s a record of all of the transactions in one place without having to search.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Integrated field and corporate data<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

DDP configured their Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate solution with a number of add-ons that helped them to streamline the communications between everyone in the company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOur two owners are very happy,\u201d says Susan.  The information they need is \u201cin their email and it\u2019s a PDF. They can review it whenever they want to review it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But the biggest benefits come from the integration with the field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Job write ups are delivered electronically and, as Susan explains, \u201cOur project managers have them on their iPads and the phone apps. If they want to pull the material list at 9 at night, they can do it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The field interface also allows workers to punch in and punch out electronically. \u201cThen their actual work time will go on and flow right into the service management module.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In all, DDP has Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate users in all areas of the organization such as accounting, estimating, purchasing, service, warehousing, sales, and project management. This seamless integration has greatly reduced the number of headaches for everyone, especially Susan. \u201cI don\u2019t have the complaints or the line at my door I used to have.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The time it takes DDP to run payroll has also been slashed \u2013 from 5 days to 2.5 days a week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In large part, that\u2019s because all the hours captured in the field go directly into the Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate Paperless capabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As Susan puts it, \u201cThat\u2019s increased our productivity significantly.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reduced errors and time required to fix them<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Before Sage, DDP was making 10-15 errors a week. Worse, Susan reports, \u201cThere were times when we could not correct the error.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today DDP has less than two errors per week and \u201cIt\u2019s very easy to correct your mistakes. \u2026 Something that took hours upon hours has been reduced down to 10-minute sessions.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Generated invoices 5 times faster<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Before Susan joined DDP, every work order and invoice had to be entered twice. That\u2019s because the accounting and sales programs didn\u2019t have the ability to interface or integrate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So right away, DDP cut labor hours in half.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But with Service Management and Service Operations<\/a> fully integrated, invoices also go out much sooner. According to Susan, work orders can now \u201cbe billed in a day or two instead of 7 to 10 days.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
