(GWP)\u2014the combined gross national product of<br>\n        all countries across the globe. In<br>\n        short, the more that waste can be kept to a minimum, the better it is<br>\n        for everyone.<br>\n    <\/strong>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\n    With so much waste produced, there\u2019s a strong focus on changing how<br>\n    processes work. And establishing the right practices and systems to<br>\n    minimize this excess. But how?\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\n    <strong>Waste isn\u2019t something that can be avoided <\/strong><br>\n    <strong><\/strong>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\n    Leftovers. Surplus. Unwanted. However you describe it, waste is an<br>\n    unavoidable part of the manufacturing process. But that doesn\u2019t mean it<br>\n    can\u2019t be minimized. Which is why many in the industry follow Lean<br>\n    Manufacturing. Invented in the 1930\u2019s, this method identifies any part of a<br>\n    manufacturing process that doesn\u2019t add value so that waste can be reduced,<br>\n    and productivity increased. It has helped millions of companies for almost<br>\n    100 years, enabling them to offer better products and services for their<br>\n    customers. Fast forward to the 21st Century, and waste is more important<br>\n    than ever\u2014whether that\u2019s due to greater awareness of environmental impacts<br>\n    or the need to streamline budgets more efficiently.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\n    <strong>Lean-ing into a better way of manufacturing<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\n    Lean Manufacturing has been around since the invention of radar, ballpoint<br>\n    pens and cat\u2019s eyes (the road reflectors, not the feline variety).\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\n    Digital tech is helping and takes Lean Manufacturing to another level. The<br>\n    method now concentrates on the collection of tools, techniques, and<br>\n    principles that have proven to be effective at driving out waste. As well<br>\n    as providing the information needed to make sure that the entire<br>\n    manufacturing process is as eco-friendly and sustainable as possible.<br>\n    Whether it\u2019s from different raw materials, the production lines they\u2019re<br>\n    made on or even the facilities they\u2019re created in, more detailed data can<br>\n    be collected than ever before. And better decisions can be made. But what<br>\n    should modern manufacturers be looking for?
