About Sage

Corporate Social Responsibility

We view our corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities as an opportunity for Sage to be a good corporate citizen in support of our global vision.

Our CSR policy

Our global CSR policy focuses on four key areas, where we believe we can make the biggest difference.

For three of these, namely Industry, Environment and People, we have established a global framework for our operating companies, providing them with flexibility regarding which areas to invest, in the aim of generating the greatest meaning and local impact.

While local legal standards serve as an absolute minimum, we are seeking to achieve best practices in our local markets and share such practices across the Group. The fourth area, i.e. Community, is entirely locally-driven, allowing our people to support causes close to them and become involved in their communities.

The Sage Group has been independently assessed against the FTSE4Good criteria and has satisfied the requirements to become a constituent of the FTSE4Good Index Series, an equity index designed to facilitate investment in companies that meet universally recognized corporate responsibility standards.

We aim to leverage the unique relationships we enjoy with customers across the globe in continuing to understand and support the issues and challenges they face.

We are continuing to analyze our impact on the environment. We remain committed to reducing our energy consumption and related emissions wherever possible, as well as mitigating our broader impacts, such as resource use and waste brought to landfills. Our 2014 Annual and Accounting Reports include a mandatory report on greenhouse gas emissions, pursuant to the 2006 Companies Act (Strategic Report and Directors’ Report) and 2013 Regulations; this report also confirmed the methodologies used to calculate our emissions.  Further details on our methodologies can be found here.

Our Code of Ethics recognizes the importance of treating all employees fairly, in covering issues such as responsible employment, diversity and equal opportunity. This format makes for effective, high-level communications of the principles that need to be applied when conducting our business.

Our local communities are so important to us. We support a number of charities and community organizations worldwide, in an effort to make a positive impact on the communities we serve.
