New Cloud-Based Sage Construction Project Center and Sage Bid Management Enables Construction Project Teams to Collaborate More Efficiently
BEAVERTON, Ore. (February 2, 2016) — Sage North America, a leading provider of business management software and services to small and medium businesses, today announced the launch of Sage Construction Project Center and Sage Bid Management, two new cloud-based solutions to help construction companies better manage and collaborate on projects.

Most construction project owners and contractors agree that improved collaboration among building team members will lead to cost and time savings as well as enhanced project quality. But achieving true project collaboration is still a major challenge for many contractors, especially given the numerous stakeholders involved in each construction job.

Sage Construction Project Center is a cloud-based hub that allows project team members to easily collaborate and share information, assuring everyone stays in sync and work is completed according to the latest plans. The solution’s automated document distribution and tracking helps improve communications and facilitates faster approvals to keep projects on schedule. Audit trails reduce confusion and finger pointing for a more accountable project team. At the end of the project, as-built project data can be delivered to the project owner to assist with ongoing maintenance of the completed facility.
Sage Bid Management allows estimators and bid coordinators to efficiently manage all aspects of the bid process—including keeping a complete and updated bidders list—through a single cloud-based location. Bid package information and updates can be released to all subcontractors at once. Subs can post their bids as well, making it easier to track all the bids coming in as well as the dates, time and different versions. As a result, contractors can get a higher response from bidders and have more time to evaluate and select the best bids. The system also monitors subcontractor certification and qualifications to reduce risk and assure the most appropriate sub or vendor is selected.
Both solutions can be run stand-alone or integrated with Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate, so project information does not have to be re-entered. This integration allows awarded bids to turn into subcontracts that can be broken out into multiple line items for project management and for job cost tracking and payment. Basic information shared includes extras, cost codes and categories as well as project information such as estimates, commitments, costs and revenue.
