We have great news about your American Express Merchant Account!
Effective 2/1/17, your account will be automatically transitioned to a new Sage program that will allow you to accept American Express Card charges the same way you do other payment cards today. Going forward, your merchant relationship, including American Express Card acceptance, will be consolidated under Sage, and you will have only one contractual, pricing, servicing, and processing relationship.
Your business will continue to benefit from:
- Simpler processing and servicing for all payment card transactions.
- One statement for all payment card transactions.
- One authorization phone number for all payment card transactions.
- One contact for customer service support.
- The same funding schedule for all payment card brands.
Please note your rates* for American Express Card transactions will not change after this transition.
There is nothing that you need to do. Simply continue to process American Express Card transactions exactly the way you do today—we’ll take care of the rest.
You may opt out of this transition by notifying Sage on or before 1/30/17 by sending an email to [email protected]. (You must include your Merchant ID number in the email.) Please note by opting out of this transition you will no longer be able to process American Express Card transactions through Sage. To continue accepting American Express Cards you will need to contact American Express directly on its Want to Honor” line (855-894-6570).
You may cancel your American Express Card acceptance at any time in the future by contacting Sage at 877-841-7014.
Processing American Express Card transactions on or after 2/1/17 will constitute your agreement to all of the terms and conditions contained immediately below.
