A business\u2019s revenue is its gross income before subtracting any <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sage.com\/en-za\/blog\/glossary\/what-is-expenses\/\">expenses<\/a>. Profits and total earnings define revenue\u2014it is the financial gain through sales and\/or services rendered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Revenue is typically calculated by adding up all of a company\u2019s standard earnings, in addition to gained interest and any equity increase accrued over the given time period<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-is-the-formula-for-revenue\">What is the formula for revenue?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The ability to accurately calculate and analyse revenue is essential to the financial success of any business model. Due to the complexity of the variables that are involved in this process, it\u2019s wise to consult with an experienced accountant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, generally speaking, the first step of the process is to combine the entity\u2019s total earnings, such as its profits. Next, factors like interest and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sage.com\/en-za\/blog\/glossary\/what-is-equity\/\">equity<\/a> must be added to the company\u2019s earnings.
