People Powering Change

Nearly half of South African employees cite their employer’s commitment to corporate philanthropy as a major driver for working for the organisation, a number that rises to 54% among employees aged below 45 years. This is one of the key findings of our People Powering Change research, which surveyed over 4,000 business leaders and employees, including 1,000 in South Africa, to get their view on corporate philanthropy and volunteering.

The global survey, conducted by global research house Kantar, sought to understand current trends in corporate philanthropy and measure the potential impact of COVID-19 on corporate giving and purpose-led business.

Many business leaders reported that COVID-19 has had a negative impact on the extent to which they will engage in philanthropy, with 64% reporting that funds for corporate philanthropy have already been cut – or will be cut in the coming 12 months.
