A mentor is someone who is able to utilise their experience and guide you through the challenges and big decisions you’ll inevitably face in your business or career. Through our research, we identified a key statistic that made us take notice of mentoring. There’s a 20% increase in the number of companies that last longer than 5 years. In addition to that, and potentially more impressive, businesses who had a mentor increase revenue by 83%, compare toe businesses without who averages 16%.
For companies considering running a mentoringship programme, the numbers are equally impressive. 77% of companies with an established programme claim if has improved staff retention and performance. In fact, workplace mentoring has produced a 56% productivity increase, with a close link to those who end up succeeding and achieving promotions.
So why aren’t we all hunting down mentors right now? The problem is, most of us don’t know where to start, or have the support from our companies to partake in a mentorship programme.
