From the battlefield to the athletic field – it’s our global commitment to the Invictus Games to support the men and women that serve their countries.

The Invictus Games is an international sporting event for wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women, which were established by HRH The Duke of Sussex in 2014. The Invictus Games sponsorship is the centrepiece of Sage Foundation’s commitment to supporting service people when they leave the military.

Sage and the Invictus Games

We’re looking forward to celebrating the unconquerable spirit of the competitors as well as their friends and family who stand with them. Their passion inspires us to believe in possibilities, not limits.

The competitors of the Invictus Games share many values with our ‘business builder customers – working hard to achieve their dreams, looking deeper, reaching higher and striving harder to succeed.

Businesses all over the world thrive on the valuable skills of service people and military veterans who can lend their unique experience, drive and talent to help grow businesses and create jobs.

Sage’s Serving Heroes Program

One of the key pillars of Sage Foundation is a commitment to help military veterans transition into meaningful civilian employment, build professional skills, and start their own businesses after service. Just as these veterans have served us, we want to support them in harnessing their unique skills and experiences in life after service.

We call this our Sage Serving Heroes program.

Here are some of the highlights of the program so far:

  • Inspired by our global commitment to the Invictus Games, the Sage Foundation launched the Sage Military Mentoring Program to help veterans around the world secure meaningful employment and future-proof their careers in the digital age through training and mentoring.
  • Signing the Armed Forces Covenant in the UK. The Covenant is a promise from Sage to those who serve or have served, and their families, that they will be treated fairly.
  • Investing our time, money, expertise and technology in non-profit partners that are helping military veterans reach their true potential throughout the world at our Sage locations via the Sage Foundation.

Introducing the Sage Power 50

Building a better future for veteran entrepreneurs

“I was medically discharged. I was severely depressed, I had clinical anxiety and I thought who wants to employ this broken person?”

- Lee Harris, Founder, White Horse Cleaning Services.

How do you build a life after the battlefield? For many former service people, their advanced resilience, discipline, and drive is perfectly suited to the task of setting up a business from scratch.

We wanted to reveal the challenges, sacrifices and tough decisions that underpin the transition into business for many veterans; as well as the advice and insight that has inspired many veterans to reshape their service honed skills into the world of entrepreneurship.

That’s what the Sage Power 50 is all about: inspiring the next generation of veteran business leaders.

Launched to celebrate the Invictus Games Sydney 2018, the Sage Power 50 is a unique showcase of veteran run or owned businesses.

Just by telling us their story, our brilliant Power 50 have helped Sage to build an invaluable collection of testimony on how they built their business against the odds.

Contributors were nominated by leading military non-profits in countries who have hosted the Invictus Games; the UK, USA and Canada, alongside this year’s hosts – Australia. Every participant was nominated for their leadership and determination to succeed.

How to get involved

At Sage, we’re extremely proud to once again partner with the Invictus Games in order to help men and women that serve or have served their country transition into meaningful civilian employment, build professional skills, and start their own businesses after service. For the Invictus Games Sydney 2018, we wanted to create a way for people across the country to show their respect and support for wounded veterans — introducing the #SageSalute.

1. Take a selfie with your right index finger pointing up over your heart.

2. Upload using the #SageSalute hashtag and join the campaign to show your support for veterans competing in the Invictus Games.

Your sign of respect will be shown on our big wall at the Games in Sydney so get involved, and challenge your friends to do the same.
