Sage, helping business flow

Sage exists to knock down barriers so everyone can thrive, starting with the millions of small and medium-sized businesses served by us, our partners and accountants.

Customers trust our finance, HR and payroll software to make work and money flow.

By digitising business processes and relationships with customers, suppliers, employees, banks and governments, our digital network connects SMBs, removing friction and delivering insights.

Who we are

Running a business can be demanding. Time consuming. Complex.

Everything we do at Sage is designed to help business flow. You’ll feel this in the way our software simply works the way you need it to. The way it surfaces insights that makes decision making faster and more accurate. Through the access you get to local experts. Through the expertise and insights that make business easier. And through the community partnerships we develop to knock down barriers for everyone, tackling economic inequality, digital inequality and the climate crisis.
This is born from a desire to deliver simplicity and ease with a human touch. To give you that feeling of confidence.
Helping business flow.

Sage has always been about simplifying accounting processes for small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs) ever since its birth in a Newcastle pub 40 years ago. Some eight years later, Sage was listed on the London Stock Exchange with a £20 million valuation.

Over time, the way we do that has evolved - reflecting the way that both technology and customer needs have changed. Sage has introduced our millions of customers to cloud technology, and to the benefits of Software as a Service (SaaS). But the whole time, ultimately, we have stayed focused on simplifying the SMB ecosystem - connecting, removing friction and delivering insights. And always with the human touch that is part of the Sage way.

Today we do that through the increasing power of our digital network.

Customers trust our finance, HR and payroll software to make work and money flow.

Sixty-five million customer records, and 35 million vendor relationships are managed within Sage Intacct alone. And a quarter of the UK’s employees are paid via Sage.
Our solutions fit the needs of start-up, scale-up, and enterprise companies – whether that means staying on top of their finances, empowering their people, or unleashing their power to grow.

Knocking Down Barriers so everyone can thrive

In today's world, not everyone is given an equal chance. We don't think that's right and it's our pledge to knock down the barriers to create equal opportunity for all.

Tackling digital inequality

Data is empowering people across the globe to run businesses, develop skills, and thrive. Learn how we’re knocking down barriers to ensure everyone has equal opportunities to access life-changing data and technology.

Tackling economic inequality

Starting or growing a business is a proven route to economic stability, wealth creation, and well-being, but the opportunities to succeed aren't always equal. Discover what we're doing to help under-represented groups get a fair chance.

Tackling the climate crisis

To tackle the climate crisis and protect the planet we're taking action on our own environmental impact and supporting SMEs to make it easier for them to do the same.

Helping communities globally

We give colleagues five paid volunteering days a year. Last year we gave 22,055 volunteer days in total. Our aim is to contribute one million volunteering hours by the end of 2022 and to fundraise $5 million for non-profits across the world by 2030.
