Our founder, David Goldman, wanted to automate the accounting processes in his own business. Working with a team of Newcastle University students, he developed software to make that happen – and discovered other businesses could benefit from this too. In 1981 our founder, David Goldman, faced a problem. He wanted to quickly create quotes for his print business and keep track of his accounts. David then worked with a team from Newcastle including Dr Paul Muller, a computer expert, who had worked with NASA, America's space agency, and student, Graham Wylie. Some eight years later, Sage was listed on the London Stock Exchange with a £20m valuation.
Today we work with millions of business builders in all types of industries around the world. Our 13 000 employees serve our customers in 23 countries across Europe, Africa, Australia, Asia, Latin America and North America.
They travel with business builders wherever they’re needed – in the cloud, on-premise, or both – offering the freedom to work anywhere and anytime. Our solutions fit the needs of startup, scale-up, and enterprise companies – whether that means staying on top of their finances, empowering their people or unleashing their power to grow their businesses.
