In 1981, our founder David Goldman wanted to create quotes quickly for his print business and keep track of his accounts. David worked with a team from Newcastle University, including Dr. Paul Muller, a computer expert who worked with NASA, and student Graham Wylie. Our founders realised other businesses could benefit from this too. Some eight years later, Sage was listed on the London Stock Exchange with a £20m valuation.

Last year Sage and its employees supported a number of organisations. We donated 3 480 items ranging from food to toys to help local charities.
Sage employees are given five paid days a year to help a charity. That's about 120 000 hours to make Kenyan communities a better place to live.
Sage has emergency procedures to help customers when they need it most; we get businesses up and running again as quickly as possible.
We provide both complimentary and discounted software to high schools, universities and colleges. Since 2008 we've given away over £1 000 000 (that's more than R18 million) in software.
