Sage Leadership Team

Members of the leadership team who are on the Executive Committee are denoted by (ExCo) after their titles. 

Steve Hare

Chief Executive Officer

Steve joined Sage in January 2014, having previously been Operating Partner and Co-Head of the Portfolio Support Group at the private equity firm Apax Partners, which he joined in 2009.

Prior to this he built over 10 years’ experience leading the finance function for three listed UK companies culminating as CFO for FTSE 100 company Invensys plc, the global technology-related business, from 2006 to 2009. Between 2004 and 2006 Steve was Group Finance Director for Spectris plc, the FTSE 250 precision instrumentation and controls company and from 1997 to 2003 he was with Marconi PLC, acting as CFO from 2001.

Steve became qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1985 with Ernst & Whinney, now part of Ernst & Young, and has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Liverpool University.

Jonathan Howell

Chief Financial Officer (ExCo)

Jonathan joined the Board as an independent non-executive director on 15 May 2013 and served as Chairman of the Audit Committee from November 2013 until December 2018.

Jonathan was subsequently appointed Chief Financial Officer of Sage, with additional responsibility for Procurement and Property, on 4 December 2018, after having served as Group Finance Director of Close Brothers Group plc for 10 years.

Prior to that, he held the same position at the London Stock Exchange Group plc starting in 1999. Jonathan was also a non-executive director of EMAP plc and Chairman of FTSE International. The early part of his career was at Price Waterhouse where he qualified as a chartered accountant.

Robert Reid

Managing Director, Sage Intacct (ExCo)

With over 30 years’ experience in the software industry, Rob Reid has a proven track record of driving explosive growth at innovative companies and has demonstrated solid expertise in bringing cloud computing to the world of business applications.

Rob most recently served as president and CEO of LucidEra, a market leader for on-demand business intelligence. Prior to that position, he was Group Vice President of industry-leading Siebel CRM On-Demand for the Oracle Corporation, responsible for managing the SMB sector. As President and CEO of on-demand CRM innovator UpShot, Rob grew the company tenfold before its acquisition by Siebel.

Rob also served as President of Concur Commerce Network, an e-marketplace for small to mid-sized businesses, and also as President and CEO of Seeker Software.

Vicki Bradin

General Counsel and Company Secretary (ExCo)

Vicki joined Sage in 2016 from former FTSE 250 software company Misys (now Finastra), where she served as Associate General Counsel. In her role at Misys, Vicki was responsible for M&A, litigation, risk, IP and other areas.

After graduating from Nottingham University, Vicki qualified as a solicitor in the City of London. Vicki spent her early career working as a corporate lawyer in global and magic circle law firms before moving in-house working in large multi-nationals and UK public limited companies, helping grow and transform businesses whilst managing their regulatory and litigation risks.

Blair Crump

President, Sage (ExCo)

Blair Crump joined Sage in August 2016, stepping into the newly-created position of President, as leader of sales and customer service across the Group.

Blair has significant leadership experience in the technology sector, moving to Sage from Texas-based profit realisation company PROS Holdings, where he was Chief Operating Officer. Previously, Blair had led Salesforce.com’s Global Enterprise business, reporting to CEO Marc Benioff, and prior to that had spent five years at Verizon Business, where he was appointed Group President. Blair also spent 23 years at MCI Communications, before its acquisition by Verizon in 2006. Blair has a strong background in overseeing sales and customer service as well as in driving growth.

Amanda Cusdin

Chief People Officer (ExCo)

Amanda became Chief People Officer in September 2018, a role she was first assigned on an interim basis in October 2017. She joined Sage in March 2015 to lead the people transformation across Sage Functions, and more recently served as Executive Vice President of People Business Partners, leading the regional and functional generalist teams across all Sage locations.

Amanda has 18 years of HR experience within a number of global FTSE organizations, including manufacturing, engineering and project-based businesses, where she focused on supporting executive leaders to drive change and transformation. During her career to date Amanda has built extensive experience across North America, Latin America, Asia and Europe. She has led in all aspects of Human Resources, but specifically in M&A, growth in new geographies and working across cultures and matrix organisations. Amanda has also specialised in talent development to the executive level.

Passionate about developing talent and leadership while creating truly inclusive organisations that promote diversity, Amanda has a Bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Warwick and postgraduate qualifications in Human Resources Management.

Ron McMurtrie

Ron McMurtrie

Chief Marketing and Business Enablement Officer (ExCo)

Ron joined Sage in 2017 and leads marketing across the company, inspiring long-term relationships through creativity and innovation.  In addition, he leads ‘Business Enablement’ comprising Business Services and IT in order to support the evolution of our operating model.

McMurtrie aligns the strategic direction of brand, digital marketing and communications, public affairs and business operations, and oversees key functional areas for new customer acquisition, building customers for life and advancing Sage's cloud strategy.

Before joining Sage, McMurtrie was global Chief Marketing Officer at Recall, an information management company, leading worldwide marketing strategy and operations. Previously, McMurtrie has over 20 years’ experience in similar roles for brands including VCE – the joint venture between Cisco, EMC and VMware – First Data, Verizon and MCI.

Aaron Harris

Aaron Harris

Chief Technology Officer (ExCo)

Responsible for Sage’s technology strategy and software architecture, Aaron Harris has more than 20 years of high-tech engineering experience in business applications and software development strategies.

Previously, a founding leader of Sage Intacct, which was acquired by Sage in 2017, Harris led the company's product vision and technology direction, establishing Sage Intacct as the innovation leader in cloud financial management solutions.

Klaus-Michael Vogelberg

Chief Architect and Technology Advisor (ExCo)

In 2019 Klaus-Michael took on this critical role in shaping the technology agenda at Sage, having previously served as Chief Technology Officer from 2007.

Klaus-Michael joined us when Sage acquired the German KHK Software group in 1997. Having been R&D Director and a partner of that business, Klaus-Michael went on to act as R&D Director for Sage in the UK and Ireland from 2004 to 2007. Klaus-Michael is based in the UK.

Lee Perkins

Lee Perkins

Chief Product Officer (ExCo)

Lee leads our Global Product Organisation, which includes : Product Marketing, Product Management and Product Engineering. Lee returned to Sage in early 2018 having originally joined Sage in 2011, serving as Managing Director of the UK & Ireland until early 2016.

Lee has over 20 years’ commercial and general management experience in public and private equity backed businesses, most recently as CEO of Metronet and prior to joining Sage, in executive leadership roles at Tech Data and Computacenter.

Keith Robinson

Chief Strategy Officer (ExCo advisor)

Keith Robinson joined Sage in 2016 as EVP for Strategy becoming the Chief Strategy Officer in September 2018. Keith is responsible for the overall strategic direction of the group, as driven by organic initiatives, targeted M&A, and growth equity / minority investments to build the future growth engines of the business.

Keith has 20 years’ experience in the software industry and previously co-founded Lamond Capital Partners, a San Francisco-based technology-focused hedge fund ; he was responsible for all Software investment activity. Prior to that, he was a Managing Director at Arma Partners (London based technology M&A advisor), where he advised on cross-border software transactions totalling several billion dollars in aggregate value. He also spent time in strategy / technology consulting with Gartner and Scient (Sequoia-backed start-up) in the US and Japan, and investment banking at JPMorgan Chase in New York.

Keith has an undergraduate degree in Finance and Entrepreneurial Management from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from INSEAD.

Kerry Agiasotis

Managing Director, Asia Pacific & Australia


Kerry has more than 20 years of business management, sales and consulting experience, gained primarily in the Financial Services and IT industries. Australian-born Kerry had previously served as President of Western Union’s Global Business Solutions Division and has held leadership positions at Oracle and Siebel Systems. He holds an Executive MBA degree from the Australian Graduate School of Management and is based in Sydney, Australia, where he is responsible for ensuring Sage’s continued growth and success in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region and Sage’s Australian business.

Sabby Gill

Managing Director, UK and Ireland

Sabby Gill leads Sage in its home market of the UK and in Ireland. He brings to Sage more than 30 years’ experience in the technology sector, extending across sales, operations and customer services.

Sabby has spent his entire career supporting businesses of all sizes with technology that unlocks their potential, both at home and across international markets.

Sabby joined Sage from Epicor where he was Executive Vice President of International. His past roles have also included Senior Vice President of International Sales for IGT, a gaming technology company and executive management positions at HP, CA Technologies, Oracle, PeopleSoft (acquired by Oracle), and DEC.

Pieter Bensch

Managing Director, Africa & Middle East

As Sage's Managing Director in Africa and the Middle East, Pieter Bensch is responsible for growing Sage’s business across the region and executing its vision of disrupting and leading the market for cloud-based payroll and accounting solutions. He has 26 years of industry experience and has held leadership roles in complex technology businesses across Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Pieter joined Sage from HPE (Hewlett-Packard Enterprise), where he was the Managing Director for South Africa. Prior to joining HP, Pieter held a range of senior positions at Oracle, including Vice President of Oracle Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Vice President of Customer Support for MEA and Vice-President and Managing Director of Oracle SA.

Jorge Carneiro

Managing Director, Latin America

At an early age, Jorge joined Grupo Amorim, a large company in Portugal, and was tasked with turning around one of their subsidiaries. Later in his career, Jorge took on a similar role for a software company that was acquired by Sage in 1999, at which time he became the Managing Director of Sage Portugal. In 2014, he was named MD of Sage Brazil and Latin America. He is also President of the British Chamber of Commerce & Industry in Brazil and a Non-Executive Member of the British Embassy Management Board in Brazil. Jorge graduated in Business Administration, holds an MBA from ESADE and studied leadership at INSEAD. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends and playing golf.

Laurent Dechaux

Managing Director, Southern Europe

Laurent Dechaux became Managing Director of Sage Southern Europe in November 2017.

He had previously served as VP of Digital Finance and Supply Chain for Oracle, leading development of the Cloud ERP EPM business across 14 European countries. Prior to this, he was Applications Vice President for Customer Experience Suite and EPM for three years, during which he was instrumental in the cloud acceleration. At the same time, he was Oracle France Country Leader, driving the rise in local awareness of the Oracle strategy.

Nancy Harris

Managing Director, North America

Nancy Harris has more than 30 years’ experience in sales, marketing and partner development, successfully leading large SaaS and enterprise software companies including BMC Software and Asure Software. Nancy joined Sage in 2011, serving as Vice President and General Manager of Sage 50 Accounting, Canadian Edition and later as Managing Director of the company’s Canadian business. Today, Nancy resides in the U.S. and is Managing Director of Sage North America, where she is responsible for the company’s day-to-day performance in both the U.S. and Canada.

Luis Pardo

Managing Director, Sage Iberia

After holding positions in different multinational sectors, Luis joined Sage in 2001, serving in a range of positions within Sage’s European Business. Luis has been Managing Director of Sage Iberia, overseeing general management in both Spain and Portugal, since 2014. Luis is a member of the Business Action Council of CEOE and the British Chamber of Commerce in Spain’s Investment Committee. Among other honors, Luis has been awarded the EU Leadership Award by the EU Business School and the prestigious Gold Star by the Institute For Professional Excellence.

Paul Struthers

Managing Director, Canada

Paul Struthers is responsible for Sage’s overall business in Canada, working alongside Sage’s cherished network of customers, partners, and accountants. Before working at Sage, Paul spent 15 years at global software solutions company Amdocs, and prior to this managed the ERP consulting practice at RSA companies, where he also led and supported over 20 projects for small and mid-sized businesses in the U.S. and Canada.

Andreas Zipser

Managing Director, Central Europe

Andreas Zipser joined Sage Germany in 2015, first leading the SME business before stepping into the position of VP Sales for Central Europe in 2016. While holding this position, he led the launch of a new partner program to market Sage’s cloud-based business solutions. Prior to working at Sage, Andreas was a member of the management team at CAS Software and held senior positions at other technology and consulting firms.

Jim Emerick

Jim Emerick

EVP, Services

In his role at Sage, Jim is responsible for Customer Services, Professional Services, and Learning Services across all servicing channels, products, and geographies. Before his time at Sage, Jim amassed three decades of experience in the financial services and aerospace industries, including roles at Bank of America, Honeywell International & TRW. Jim holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Sonoma State University and an MBA from Pepperdine University.

Sue Goble

EVP, Business Operations

Sue's role at Sage reports on Business Operations responsibilities, ensuring Sage implements major programmes successfully across the organisation. Sue has had a distinguished career at a wide range of cloud companies, including roles as Cloud Division CEO of the Iris Software Group, International General Manager at the cloud consulting business Bluewolf and senior staff member at Salesforce and Siebel.

Nick Goode

EVP Product

Nick leads the product management team for Sage. He's been in the software industry for over 20 years, working globally on cloud, mobile and enterprise B2B products. Nick is passionate about leadership, digital engagement, innovation and customer success. Outside of his work, Nick is a health and fitness buff ; he lives on a farm in Cheshire with his wife, children and horses.

Seamus Smith

EVP, Payments & Banking

Seamus Smith joined Sage in July 2015 as CEO of SagePay and was appointed as Executive Vice President Worldwide Payments & Banking in February 2017. In this role, he leads the development of payments & banking services for Sage worldwide. Seamus has previously held senior roles in the financial services sector at GE Capital, American Express and PayPoint plc. He holds an MBA from Henley Management College, and is a Trustee and Treasurer of Windsor Leadership, a leadership development organisation.
