Sage Leadership Team

Members of the leadership team who are on the Executive Committee are denoted by (ExCo) after their titles. 

Steve Hare

Chief Executive Officer

Steve joined Sage in January 2014, having previously been Operating Partner and Co-Head of the Portfolio Support Group at the private equity firm Apax Partners, which he joined in 2009.

Prior to this he built over 10 years’ experience leading the finance function for three listed UK companies culminating as CFO for FTSE 100 company Invensys plc, the global technology-related business, from 2006 to 2009. Between 2004 and 2006 Steve was Group Finance Director for Spectris plc, the FTSE 250 precision instrumentation and controls company and from 1997 to 2003 he was with Marconi PLC, acting as CFO from 2001.

Steve qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1985 with Ernst & Whinney, now part of Ernst & Young, and has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Liverpool University.

Jonathan Howell

Chief Financial Officer (ExCo)

Jonathan joined the Board as an independent non-executive director on 15 May 2013 and served as Chairman of the Audit Committee from November 2013 until December 2018. 

Jonathan was subsequently appointed Chief Financial Officer, with additional responsibility for Procurement and Property, of Sage on 4 December 2018, having recently left the role of Group Finance Director of Close Brothers Group plc which he held for 10 years.

Prior to that he held the same position at the London Stock Exchange Group plc since 1999. Jonathan has also been a non-executive director of EMAP plc and Chairman of FTSE International. The early part of his career was at Price Waterhouse where he qualified as a chartered accountant.

Blair Crump

President, Sage (ExCo)

Blair Crump joined Sage in August 2016 in the newly-created position of President, leading on sales and customer service across the Group.

Blair has significant leadership experience in the technology sector, joining Sage from Texas-based profit realization company PROS Holdings, where he was Chief Operating Officer. Previously, Blair led’s Global Enterprise business, reporting into CEO Marc Benioff, and prior to this spent five years at Verizon Business, where he was appointed Group President. Blair was also at MCI Communications for 23 years, before its acquisition by Verizon in 2006. Blair has a strong background in sales, customer service and driving growth.

Vicki Bradin

General Counsel and Company Secretary (ExCo)

Vicki joined Sage in 2016 from former FTSE 250 software company Misys (now Finastra), where she was Associate General Counsel. In her role at Misys, Vicki was responsible for M&A, litigation, risk, IP and more.

After graduating from Nottingham University, Vicki qualified as a solicitor in the City of London. Vicki spent her early career working as a corporate lawyer in global and magic circle law firms before moving in-house working in large multi-nationals and UK public limited companies, helping grow and transform businesses whilst managing their regulatory and litigation risk.

Amanda Cusdin

Chief People Officer (ExCo)

Amanda became Chief People Officer in September 2018, a role she started on an interim basis in October 2017. She joined Sage in March 2015 to lead first the people transformation across Sage Functions and then latterly as Executive Vice President People Business Partners - leading the regional and functional generalist people teams across all of Sage locations.

Amanda has eighteen years of HR experience across a number of global FTSE organisations, including manufacturing, engineering and projects businesses where she focused on supporting executive leaders to drive change and transformation. During her career to date Amanda has built extensive experience across North America, Latin America, Asia and Europe. She has led in all aspects of Human Resources but specifically in M&A, growth in new geographies and working across cultures and matrix organizations. Amanda has also specialized in talent development to executive level.

Passionate about developing talent and leadership and creating truly inclusive organizations which promote diversity, Amanda has a Bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Warwick and postgraduate qualifications in Human Resources Management.

Aaron Harris

Aaron Harris

Chief Technology Officer (ExCo)

Responsible for Sage’s technology strategy and software architecture, Aaron Harris has more than 20 years of high-tech engineering experience in business applications and software development strategies.

Previously, a founding leader of Sage Intacct, which was acquired by Sage in 2017, Harris led the company's product vision and technology direction, establishing Sage Intacct as the innovation leader in cloud financial management solutions.

Ron McMurtrie

Ron McMurtrie

Chief Marketing and Business Enablement Officer (ExCo)

Ron joined Sage in 2017 and leads marketing across the company, inspiring long-term relationships through creativity and innovation.  In addition, he leads ‘Business Enablement’ comprising Business Services and IT in order to support the evolution of our operating model.

McMurtrie aligns the strategic direction of brand, digital marketing and communications, public affairs, business operations and oversees key functional areas for new customer acquisition, building customers for life, and advancing Sage's cloud strategy.

Before joining Sage, McMurtrie was global Chief Marketing Officer at Recall, an information management company, leading worldwide marketing strategy and operations. Previously, McMurtrie has over 20 years’ experience in similar roles for brands including VCE – the joint venture between Cisco, EMC and VMware – First Data, Verizon and MCI.

Lee Perkins

Lee Perkins

Chief Product Officer (ExCo)

Lee leads our Global Product Organization which includes; Product Marketing, Product Management and Product Engineering. Lee returned to Sage in early 2018 having originally joined Sage in 2011, serving as Managing Director of the UK & Ireland until early 2016.

Lee has over 20 years’ commercial and general management experience in public and private equity backed businesses, most recently as CEO of Metronet and prior to joining Sage, in executive leadership roles at Tech Data and Computacenter.

Robert Reid

Chairman, Mid-Market Solutions

With more than 30 years’ experience in the software industry, Rob Reid has a proven track record of driving explosive growth at innovative companies, and has demonstrated a deep expertise in bringing cloud computing to the world of business applications.

Rob served most recently as president and CEO of LucidEra, a market leader for on-demand business intelligence. Prior to that, he was group vice president of industry-leading Siebel CRM On Demand for Oracle Corporation, managing the SMB sector. As president and CEO of on-demand CRM innovator UpShot, Rob grew the company tenfold before it was acquired by Siebel.

Rob served as president of Concur Commerce Network, an e-marketplace for small to medium-sized businesses, and also as president and CEO of Seeker Software.

Keith Robinson

Chief Strategy Officer (ExCo advisor)

Keith Robinson joined Sage in 2016 as EVP for Strategy becoming the Chief Strategy Officer in September 2018. Keith is responsible for the overall strategic direction of the group as driven by organic initiatives, targeted M&A, and growth equity / minority investments to build the future growth engines of the business.

Keith has 20 years’ experience in the software industry and previously co-founded Lamond Capital Partners, a San Francisco based technology-focused hedge fund; led all Software investment activity. Prior to that he was a Managing Director at Arma Partners (London based technology M&A advisor); advised on cross-border software transactions totally several billion dollars in aggregate value. He also spent time in strategy / technology consulting with Gartner and Scient (Sequoia backed start-up) in the US and Japan, and investment banking at JPMorgan Chase in New York.

Keith has an undergraduate degree in Finance and Entrepreneurial Management from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from INSEAD.

Klaus-Michael Vogelberg

Chief Architect and Technology Advisor (ExCo)

In 2019 Klaus-Michael took on this critical role in shaping the technology agenda at Sage, having previously served as Chief Technology Officer from 2007.

Klaus-Michael joined us when Sage acquired the German KHK Software group in 1997. Having been R&D Director and a partner of that business, Klaus-Michael went on to act as R&D Director for Sage in the UK and Ireland from 2004 to 2007. Klaus-Michael is based in the UK.

Kerry Agiasotis

Managing Director, Asia Pacific & Australia

Kerry has more than 20 years of business management, sales and consulting experience gained primarily in the Financial Services and IT industries. Australian-born Kerry was previously President of Western Union’s global Business Solutions division, and has held leadership positions at Oracle and Siebel Systems. He holds an Executive MBA degree from the Australian Graduate School of Management and is based in Sydney, Australia, where he is responsible for ensuring Sage’s continued growth and success in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region and Sage’s Australian business.

Pieter Bensch

Managing Director, Africa & Middle East

As Managing Director of Sage in Africa and the Middle East, Pieter Bensch is responsible for growing Sage’s business across the region and executing its vision of disrupting and leading the market for cloud-based payroll and accounting solutions. He has 26 years of industry experience and has held leadership roles in complex technology businesses across Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Pieter joins Sage from HPE (Hewlett-Packard Enterprise), where he was the Managing Director for South Africa. Prior to joining HP, Pieter held a range of senior positions at Oracle, including Vice-President of Oracle Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Vice-President of Customer Support for MEA and Vice-President and Managing Director of Oracle SA.

Jorge Carneiro

Managing Director, Latin America

At an early age, Jorge joined Grupo Amorim, a large company in Portugal, and was charged with turning around one of their subsidiaries. Later in his career he took on a similar role for a software company that was acquired by Sage in 1999, whereupon Jorge became the Managing Director of Sage Portugal. In 2014, he became MD of Sage Brazil and Latin America. He is also President of the British Chamber of Commerce & Industry in Brazil and a Non-Executive Member of the British Embassy Management Board in Brazil. Jorge graduated in Business Administration, has an MBA at ESADE, and studied leadership at INSEAD. Jorge enjoys spending time with his family and friends and playing golf.

Laurent Dechaux

Managing Director, Southern Europe

Laurent Dechaux became Managing Director of Sage Southern Europe in November 2017.

He was previously, VP Digital Finance and Supply Chain for Oracle, leading the development of the Cloud ERP EPM business across fourteen European countries. Prior to this, he was Applications Vice President for Customer Experience Suite and EPM for three years, during which he was instrumental in the cloud acceleration. In parallel, he was Oracle France Country Leader, driving the rise of local awareness of the Oracle strategy.

Sabby Gill

Managing Director, UK and Ireland

Sabby Gill leads Sage in its home market of the UK and in Ireland. He brings to Sage more than 30 years’ experience in the technology sector, across sales, operations and customer services. 

Sabby has spent his career supporting businesses of all sizes with technology that unlocks their potential – both at home and across international markets. 

Sabby joined Sage from Epicor where he was Executive Vice President of International. Past roles have also included Senior Vice President of International Sales for IGT, a gaming technology company and executive management roles at HP, CA Technologies, Oracle, PeopleSoft (acquired by Oracle), and DEC.

Nancy Harris

Managing Director, North America

Nancy Harris has more than 30 years’ experience in sales, marketing and partner development, successfully leading large SaaS and enterprise software companies including BMC Software and Asure Software. Nancy joined Sage in 2011, serving as vice president and general manager of Sage 50 Accounting, Canadian Edition and later as managing director of the company’s Canadian business. Today, Nancy resides in the U.S. and is managing director of Sage North America where she is responsible for the company’s day-to-day performance in the U.S. and Canada.

Luis Pardo

Managing Director, Sage Iberia

After holding positions in different multinational sectors, Luis joined Sage in 2001, occupying a range of positions in Sage’s European Business. Luis has been Managing Director of Sage Iberia – overseeing general management of Spain and Portugal – since 2014. Luis is a member of the Business Action Council of CEOE and the British Chamber of Commerce in Spain’s Investment Committee. Among other honors, Luis has been awarded the EU Leadership Award by the EU Business School and the prestigious Gold Star by the Institute For Professional Excellence.

Paul Struthers

Managing Director, Canada

Paul Struthers is responsible for Sage’s overall business in Canada, working alongside Sage’s cherished network of customers, partners, and accountants. Before working at Sage, Paul spent 15 years at global software solutions company Amdocs, and prior to this managed the ERP consulting practice at RSA companies, where he also led and supported over 20 projects for small and medium-sized businesses in the U.S. and Canada.

Andreas Zipser

Managing Director, Central Europe

Andreas Zipser joined Sage Germany in 2015, first leading the SME business before taking on the role of VP Sales Central Europe in 2016. In this position, he led the launch of a new partner program to commercialize Sage’s cloud-based business solutions. Prior to Sage, Andreas was member of the management at CAS Software and held senior positions at other technology and consulting firms.

Derk Bleeker

EVP, Commercial Finance & Corporate Development

Derk Bleeker joined Sage in 2014 to build its Corporate Development function and in 2018 took responsibility for Commercial Finance. Derk joined Sage from Danaher Corporation, a global industrial and medical technology leader, where he led European Corporate Development and prior to that he worked in private equity at HgCapital and as an M&A specialist in the investment banking practice of Merrill Lynch.

Derk holds an degree in Politics, Philosophy & Economics from Oxford University and an MBA from INSEAD.

Jim Emerick

Jim Emerick

EVP, Customer Services and Success

In his role at Sage, Jim is responsible for Customer Services, Professional Services, and Learning Services across all servicing channels, products, and geographies. Before Sage, Jim amassed three decades of experience in the financial services and aerospace industries, including roles at Bank of America, Honeywell International & TRW. Jim has a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Sonoma State University and a MBA from Pepperdine University.

Sue Goble

EVP, Business Operations

Sue's role at Sage is accountable for Business Operations responsibilities, ensuring Sage lands major programmes successfully across the organisation. Sue has a distinguished career at a range of cloud companies including roles as CEO of the Cloud division of Iris Software Group; general manager for International at cloud consulting business Bluewolf; and senior roles at Salesforce and Siebel.

Amy Lawson

EVP, Communications

Amy is responsible for Communications at Sage, responsible for internal and external communications, including public relations, industry analyst relations and events. She sets the global communications strategy for our team of regional communications experts to engage with all corporate stakeholders, and oversees our events for customers, partners and colleagues.

Previously, Amy was head of the Cabinet Office media operation as a civil servant for Her Majesty’s Government and was Head of Communications for Channel 4 News, where she was responsible for protecting and promoting the reputation of the national news program, its journalism and its presenters.

Marc Linden

EVP, Sage Intacct

Marc Linden has more than 30 years of finance, business strategy, and general management experience. One of our longest tenured leaders with more than 10 years of service, he was the CFO of Intacct prior to the acquisition of Sage. As EVP, he now oversees Finance, Product Management, Engineering, Operations, Marketing and Business Operations.

Prior to Sage Intacct, Marc spent four years as CFO for Mirapoint, Inc., a leader in secure appliance solutions for messaging. He served as general manager of Openwave's messaging business unit. Marc came to Openwave from the unified messaging company Onebox, where he was CFO, and was instrumental in the sale of Onebox to for $850M.

He has held positions in corporate development and planning at Octel, served as vice president of business development and CFO for Global Village / OneWorld. His career began in technology practice at McKinsey & Company.

Marc holds an economics degree from the University of California at Berkeley, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
