Community Academies Trust keep every school’s finance in step with one clear view

Community Academies Trust brings 17 schools onto one finance platform with Sage Intacct, replacing paper and separate databases for clearer oversight and simpler consolidation.

Manual processes made trust-wide finance harder as CAT expanded

Founded in 2012, Community Academies Trust (CAT) is a multi-academy trust with 17 schools in Staffordshire.

Before Sage Intacct, individual databases and paper-based systems caused manual work, inefficiencies, and limited real-time oversight as more schools joined.

The nightly flow of transactions has replaced manual uploads, saving time and reducing the risk of errors.

Sage Intacct brings finance data together and supports connected, scalable working

Partnering with Solutions for Accounting, Community Academies Trust implemented Sage Intacct to centralise financial data, automate reporting, and streamline purchasing.

The Trust also introduced a custom web-based cash receipting system so schools can post receipts without individual user licences.

There is no paper. Documents are emailed or scanned into and once authorised, they’re in Sage Intacct.

More visibility, smoother audits and a month-end process that works across the trust

Sage Intacct reduced manual processes and introduced automated workflows. Documents can now be emailed or scanned and auditors can access them directly.

Integration with other business software enables automated nightly transaction flows, reducing manual uploads and errors, and making month-end consolidation a single, efficient process.

We can create our own reports, which lets us customise reporting based on our own requirements.
