CASIS fulfills its mission of increasing visibility with cloud accounting

The Center for Advancement of Science in Space (CASIS) replaced its outdated on-premises system with Sage Intacct and freed up time to focus on managing the International Space Station National Laboratory.

Outdated on-premises system limited visibility into financial position

Using their outdated on-premises system, CASIS had to wait until the end of the month to upload their financial transactions, leaving their finance team constantly behind. The switch to Sage Intacct has given them real-time visibility into the current state of their financials.

With our legacy system, I relied on my external accounting team to generate a report for me. With Sage Intacct, I'm able to go in myself and get all of the data I need. As CFO, it makes a huge difference to be able to extract that information on my own and has made my life easier.

Integration with Salesforce allows for cross-functional collaboration

After moving to Sage Intacct, CASIS integrated their financials with their Salesforce CRM system. From business development to operations to the science team, the entire organization now has access to accurate payment and program data at their fingertips.

Sage Intacct provides a huge advantage in where it feeds the information into Salesforce. Now, all our cross-functional teams have all the financial information regarding payments for different experiments and to the projects available at their fingertips.

Dimensions allow for tracking of new metrics to key government stakeholders

Using Sage Intacct dimensions, CASIS can now track key metrics like type of science discipline or entity, something they weren't able to do with their outdated system. These important metrics are needed to report back to Congress, the White House, NASA, and other stakeholders.

Dimensions in Sage Intacct allow us to track important metrics that we need to report to our stakeholders with the click of a button versus having to crunch a bunch of data.
