Marek Banas is Director of Cyber Defence Operations within the Global Security Team at Sage, the enterprise software company serving millions of small and medium-sized businesses worldwide. He is responsible for Sage’s cyber defence capability, including security operations, incident response, and threat management.
Marek began his career as a Network Architect and Project Manager at INEA S.A. in Poland before moving into cybersecurity at GSK. Over 17 years at the pharmaceutical giant, he worked across nearly every business unit, progressing from Security Specialist to Security Team Lead. At Sage, he has held several senior positions including Managing Director before taking on his current role.
Beyond Sage, Marek serves on the board of YMCA North Tyneside and has represented the company in the UK government’s DSIT Software Security Ambassador Scheme. He holds a Master’s in ICT from Poznan University of Technology and is based in London.
