Nick Longden to lead Sage One expansion in the UK and Ireland

Nick Longden to lead Sage One expansion in the UK and Ireland (Sage UKI)
Experienced software sales director Nick Longden is to spearhead the continued growth of Sage One in the UK and Ireland, it is announced today.

Nick joins leading business software and services provider Sage as General Manager for Sage One in the UK and Ireland to drive the continued success of its cloud proposition. He leaves software firm Xero where he headed up the UK sales operation for more than two years.

He begins his role at Sage headquarters in Newcastle in November where he will continue to drive the momentum behind the growth of Sage One in the UK and Ireland and accelerate Sage’s cloud strategy. The latest reporting figures for Sage One in March 2014 showed paying for subscriptions for Sage One had almost trebled to 33,000 within 12 months.

“Sage is a fantastic brand and now is a great time to be joining,” said Nick. “The market is changing, and helping people in business to understand what a difference cloud technology can make to their working lives is a passion of mine so Sage’s strong footprint in online software is something that I’m really excited about. I thought I knew Sage, I was wrong”

“The team is evolving and adapting all the time to meet the needs of today and tomorrow’s customers. It’s going to be awesome to be part of it.”

Brendan Flattery, CEO of Sage UK and Ireland, said: “Nick’s 21 years of industry experience speaks for itself and he is joining the team at a time when we are seeing rapid growth in our Sage One proposition.

“He is another valuable addition to the team as Sage continues to match the growing appetite and demand for cloud computing in the UK and Ireland.”

In his 21-year software sales career Nick has worked for CCH UK, Pegasus Ltd, Dragnet E-Business Ltd and Baron Systems Ltd.
