Accessibility in everything we do

We design and build products for everyone in line with our core purpose of removing barriers. We believe better digital accessibility supports people with disabilities or impairments to thrive in the workplace.

Our commitment to accessible experiences

We’re committed to knocking down barriers and making all Sage products accessible to everyone. Our next accessibility target is for cloud products to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) criteria by the end of 2025.

Accessibility and our Sage design system

We aspire to include accessibility at the forefront of everything we build, using the new Sage design system. Each component and pattern we use will have dedicated accessibility guidelines. These detail expected keyboard behaviour, non-visual elements, general best practice recommendations, and more.

Continuously improving our products

We test all our products with real users, to create designs that work for real people. Our testing includes users with disabilities to help us understand their challenges and develop solutions that work for everyone. Join our Product Feedback panel and help us shape the Sage products you use. We often offer vouchers as a thank you for taking part in research sessions.

Helping people through Sage Foundation

We are committed to working with a variety of charities that make a difference to people with disabilities through Sage Foundation.

Building a culture of accessibility

Want to know how we’re bringing accessibility to our culture here at Sage? We have built-in training for all our colleagues to increase awareness of accessibility challenges. This provides space for us to share ideas for improvements, and become advocates for better accessibility.

Accessibility Guild

We hold monthly presentations and workshops that deep dive into topics like accessible collaboration and accessible design, as well as sharing our work around web accessibility at Sage.

Accessibility Surgery

This weekly remote drop-in centre is where designers, programmers, and other Sage colleagues that work on our digital products can bring their project's accessibility challenges and questions for discussion.

Chat and forum channels

We have created a dedicated, remote working space for colleagues when it comes to accessibility. Here employees can share interesting blog posts or videos, ask questions, and help each other out.

Global Accessibility Awareness Day

Every year, we celebrate Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD). In 2022 we ran a mini conference with six presentations, attended by nearly 200 Sage colleagues. Each year we cover a range of topics including accessibility focused persona building, empathy workshops, and more.
