Sage reveals strong demand for Sage 50 Accounts on release day of Sage Drive

Sage reveals “strong demand” for Sage 50 Accounts on release day of Sage Drive (Sage UKI)
Business software and services provider Sage UK is reporting an increase in units sold and year-on-year installations for the next generation of its redesigned Sage 50 Accounts.

The strong demand for its market leading small business accounting software, which is leading the way in Sage’s core product modernisation strategy, is unveiled on the same day that users get their hands on the new Sage Drive service and mobile business management apps. These new cloud based additions will transform the way hundreds of thousands of small businesses and accountants work together to manage their finance and accounting needs.

The biggest change ever made to the flagship software makes the valuable data within the system available to a wider range of users with specific needs via connected services. It puts desktop, mobile, and cloud based tools into the hands of business owners, sales teams, finance professionals and accountants as part of the deepest and broadest accounting capabilities on the market for small and medium sized businesses.

From today, people can use the newly developed Sage Drive to securely access their Sage 50 Accounts in real time from the cloud using either desktop, mobile or tablet devices. This means businesses can access and share their core data quickly and securely within their business, and with accountants and other partners whenever and wherever they want.

The new apps for Android and iOS put mobile and tablet access at the heart of Sage 50 Accounts. Sage Drive provides users with on-the-move access to real time business data and insight through simple-to-use tools that keep businesses in control of finances, anytime, anywhere. The first in a range of mobile apps, which are designed to assist and empower specific teams and roles within businesses, are available from today:
  • Sage 50 Accounts Tracker app - for on-demand insight into business performance, such as top level sales, purchases and bank position, plus a convenient search for customer and supplier contact details
  • Sage 50 Accounts Mobile Sales app - everything a sales person needs for easy-to-use, end-to-end sales management, including the ability to create quotes, orders and invoices remotely.

The new Sage 50 Accounts is also available on monthly subscription packages,  meaning customers can get up and running from as little as £25 per month with no contractual obligation. Driven by customer need, the move to subscription offers greater choice of software and support as well as eliminating upfront costs and ensuring customers are always on the most recent version of software.

Lee Perkins, Managing Director, Start-up and Small Business for Sage UK and Ireland, said: “Built with customer need at the heart of development, we always knew we had something special with this product. But even we have been blown away by the demand. Businesses want to unlock the benefits that the cloud and mobile technology deliver, but with a company they can trust with their data and who they know can be there at the end of the phone should they want or need any support.

“Collaboration is important and confidence is vital, but other c-words are also capturing the attention of entrepreneurs, and cloud is certainly one of them. Sage and Sage 50 Accounts deliver on all of these alongside new, more flexible ways of working. Christmas has come early for the thousands of sales people, finance directors, accountants and owner managers who will be getting their hands on Sage Drive and the mobile apps today.”

Core product modernisation creates the flexible architecture required to liberate customer data and make it available in the cloud so the company can deliver an enriched desktop experience enhanced with connected services. It has been an important catalyst in driving subscription across Sage’s portfolio in 2014 and the new Sage 50 Accounts is set to continue this trend.
