Sage recognised as a Leader in IDC MarketScape for AI-enabled PSA ERP applications

Sage continues to advance AI-powered capabilities across finance and operations, including a growing network of AI agents.

London, 11 December 2025 – Sage (FTSE: SGE), the leader in accounting, financial, HR, and payroll technology for small and mid-sized businesses, has been named a Leader in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide AI-Enabled PSA (Professional Services Automation) and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) Applications 2025–2026 Vendor Assessment1.

With AI adoption accelerating across finance and operations, organisations are looking for ways to reduce manual work and improve accuracy. Sage research2  shows that tasks like bank reconciliation and accessing financial insights remain time-intensive for many SMBs, with up to a quarter (24%) of workflow activities still completed manually. This is driving growing interest in AI tools that can remove admin and support faster, more confident decision-making.

These findings reinforce the growing demand for connected systems that bring Professional Services Automation (PSA) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) together with AI built in - supporting faster, more efficient ways of working across both project delivery and financial management.

“It’s great to see Sage recognised as a Leader by IDC MarketScape,” said Dan Miller, EVP, Financials & ERP, Sage. “Our focus is on giving mid-sized organisations AI that actually helps them – saving time, improving accuracy, and surfacing insights they can act on quickly. This acknowledgement reflects the progress of our AI and agent strategy, and the results we’re seeing as customers use Sage Intacct to run higher-performing operations.”

IDC MarketScape’s perspective on Sage

According to the IDC MarketScape, “Sage Intacct's AI strategy spans PSA and ERP together, bringing more capabilities and functionalities. With AI enabled all along the life-cycle journey, it also incorporates intelligent time and GL anomaly detection and has an optional project intelligence for proactive portfolio health and margin analytics.”

“AI-enabled PSA and ERP systems are becoming essential as organisations look to eliminate manual processes and improve how they deliver projects and manage finances,” said Mickey North Rizza, Group VP, Enterprise Software at IDC. “Sage is recognised for its unified AI strategy across PSA and ERP, strong roadmap for AI agents, and focus on building trust and transparency into its AI experiences.”

A future driven with Agents

Sage continues to enhance its AI capabilities with a growing network of agents designed to automate routine work across finance and operations. These include agents that support close management, accounts payable, time capture and assurance, alongside the recently introduced Finance Intelligence Agent, which helps teams surface insights more quickly and act with greater confidence.

Together, these agentic capabilities strengthen Sage Intacct’s focus on reducing admin, improving accuracy and supporting high-performance finance teams.

Notes to editors

What do PSA and ERP mean?
Professional Services Automation (PSA) refers to the systems organisations use to plan, resource and manage project delivery. Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) refers to the software used to manage core financial and operational processes within a business.

What are Sage AI Agents?
When Sage talks about “Agents”, it means intelligent digital helpers built into its software that take on specific, sometimes repetitive jobs for finance teams. Unlike traditional software features, which rely on the user to click through menus and complete each step, Agents are designed to work more like a trusted assistant, completing operational tasks independently, retrieving and analysing data, delivering insights and suggesting actions, and taking action.

How are Sage AI Agents different from other AI tools?
Unlike generic AI tools, Sage AI Agents are embedded directly into products and designed for the workflows and insights that matter most to finance teams. Agents are accounting-trained, tuned for high accuracy, and act within user permissions for security. Users are firmly in charge with Agent actions always approved by the user. They combine automation, intelligence and autonomy to deliver accurate, trusted outcomes — freeing people to focus on insight and decision-making rather than admin.

What powers Sage AI Agents?
Sage AI Agents are built on the Sage Platform, a foundation that delivers innovation faster, more securely and with trust at its core. By connecting products, services and data across Sage, the platform ensures new AI capabilities can be embedded seamlessly into existing workflows without disruption.

The Sage Platform enables Agents to work together as a connected system, sharing data, insights and actions across the finance function. For finance teams, this means closing faster, paying smarter, and operating with greater accuracy and confidence.

What does this mean for partners?
For Sage partners, the Sage Platform creates new opportunities to deliver results quickly and differentiate their services. Prebuilt and ready to deploy, the AI Agents accelerate client outcomes without the need for costly integrations or custom builds.
