In distribution, logistics is the term used to refer to the organised movement of goods and services from the point of origin to the point of consumption, to meet customer requirements. Often, logistics is associated with distributors that move large volumes of products, working with manufacturers and retailers. It includes all aspects of the chain of production, which involves design, suppliers, financing, information, energy, transportation, distribution, and sales.
