Delivering Sage’s global programme of corporate philanthropy.
Embedded across all 23 Sage Markets, Sage Foundation unifies colleagues, partners and customers in a programme of social change philanthropy. We help tens of thousands of people in our local communities through more than 1 000 charities.
Impact report 2019: view our success
Sage volunteering increased by 30 percent and was worth £4.2 million to non-profits last year. 2019 was the fourth year of doing good in our local communities, and, as each year passes, we are able to do more. Last year we helped 292 organisations globally through grants supporting our key pillars: Sage Empowering Women, Sage Inspiring Youth and Sage Serving Heroes. Our discounted product programme benefited 549 non-profits. All this was a significant increase against the year before.
Inspiring young people through the Sage FutureMakers Programme
The fourth industrial revolution is one of the biggest challenges facing young people today. Sage’s FutureMakers programme provides hands-on experiences for young people aged between 13 and 17 to create solutions that combine the human element with machine intelligence. The programme aims to increase the understanding of artificial intelligence and the possibilities it entails, empowering and equipping young people to propose, design and implement innovative technology solutions to address serious social problems.
Design that aligns to the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals
The programme trains young people in human-centred design aligned to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, and provides hands-on training in Machine Learning techniques such as image recognition, voice synthesis and natural language processing and the ethical principles to be considered while creating Artificial Intelligence-powered products and services.
Sage FutureMakers is now in its second phase, with the programme being launched to 500 young people in five countries.
Sage Foundation believes in engaging and educating the next generation of AI leaders in our rapidly changing world. Our goal is to inspire young people from under-served communities to engage in AI and AI education. We aim to address the challenges young people face due to a changing workforce, by giving them skills for jobs don’t exist yet.
CEO Steve Hare’s new challenge — help us donate $2 million by 2022.
Partners and customers are invited to join Sage colleagues in our mission to raise $2 million for local charities by 2022. We will be kicking off the challenge through 20 events in 2020.
Choose any challenge you like and support any charity close to your heart. We have been climbing mountains in Australia, cycling from London to Paris and riding multi-person bikes around Canadian cities. Danceathons, spinathons, marathons and anything else you can come up with, are bringing us together, all around the world, to do good.
Sage Foundation provides time, resources and technology so NPOs can help more people reach their true potential. We are focused on building social, economic and entrepreneurial opportunities in our local communities.
