His career journey spans branding, online learning, and journalism, blending technical expertise with creative storytelling to craft engaging, learner-focused solutions that inspire meaningful impact worldwide.
After graduating with distinctions in financial accounting and classical piano from the University of Cape Town, Eugene spent over two-and-a-half years working in branding, communications, and market research. He then transitioned to eLearning, where he designed and launched award-winning courses, including one recognized as Best Soft Skills Solution at DemoFest. During this time, he also built his own business as an award-winning writer, publishing over 1,300 features across 100+ global websites, newspapers, and magazines.
Eugene’s writing spans diverse topics, including travel, food, wine, marketing, media, television, film, music, theatre, personal development, and books. His storytelling expertise extends to podcasting and photography, having hosted an award-winning Cape Town travel guide and worked with global airlines, tourism boards, and hospitality brands.
Currently, Eugene focuses on developing engaging and accessible educational content in AI and data science. His projects include creating AI-powered learning experiences, leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs), and researching the intersection of storytelling and technology. His capstone project—a chatbot designed to make chronic disease data more accessible—showcases his ability to bridge complex technical concepts with user-centered communication.
