2025 New Code of Conduct on Dismissal Webinar

Join Andrew Levy, one of South Africa's best-known labour resources, for this important event.

The new code of conduct on dismissal is revolutionary!

This code is without question the most important change since the passing of the LRA.

We have a new Code of Conduct, but like all codes, this needs cracking, reading between the lines, and understanding of what it means, and how you can implement it.  Andrew Levy will fully detail the content, the meaning and practical steps for you to end the endless cost and formality of trying to emulate court procedure.  Of course, there are snags but trust Andrew to show you through the way through and explain the detail.

This is a webinar you cannot afford to miss.

Key areas of discussion:

  • The history and context of changes
  • An end to super-proceduralism
  • Probation – the gift to prevent you from buying trouble
  • Why a hearing is just that – not a court process
  • Using the new code at the CCMA

Set out in his popular Q&A format, the topics and issues will be discussed in detail and supported by practical guidelines in a clear and understandable format.

Discussion points:

  1. Why now, and is this an admission of failure?
  2. Reading between the lines to crack the Code.
  3. The end of unnecessary formality and proceduralism
  4. Different provisions for “small” and “large” employers
  5. Is your procedure in a collective agreement or an employment contract?
  6. “Time consuming investigations” and pre-dismissal procedures
  7. The vital new world of probation and what’s behind it
  8. The effect of an employee’s attitude
  9. What is now required for a fair hearing?
  10. Incapacity, poor performance and mental illness
  11. Retrenchment - clarified
  12. Where to from here for your Company?
