Empowering over 700 employees

Lee Shaw, Head of HR Service and Delivery at Shawbrook, wanted to find a reliable cloud-based HR and people system for the company. He sees its 700-plus employees as fundamental to the business, so recruiting and retaining the right people is essential. It needed a solution that can align HR with business growth and also empower its employees to manage and action their own HR data and tasks.

Future-proof HR

Shawbrook now delivers HR services in the cloud. With Sage People in place, employees also have a centralised portal for their HR needs. “[Sage People] has started to change the role of HR at Shawbrook,” says Shaw.

Oracle and Workday were too complex for us given where we are as a business today, and we felt Sage People was a closer cultural fit given our rapid growth.

Informed people management decisions

Sage People helped Shawbrook to improve the credibility of the HR function. Shaw can report to the executive and operations committee on core topics like turnover, absences and headcount. Shawbrook also outsourced its payroll function and lower-skilled work. By automating transactional processes, HR can focus on the company’s biggest asset: its people.

By the end of week one after go-live, we had 82% adoption, which was a big win.
