Newcastle, UK - 7 July 2021 – Sage, the market leader in cloud business management solutions, today announced that its Sage Pathways programme is returning to support those in the North East who are looking to re-enter the workplace following a career break.
Following a successful pilot in 2019, Sage is again offering a Pathways programme into its customer services team in Newcastle. Successful applicants will begin a career at Sage with a starting salary of £24,000 per year, rising to £26,000 after six months.
Sage recently launched its global Sustainability and Society strategy ‘Knocking Down Barriers with a goal to tackle societal and economic inequality as well as support a new generation of diverse and sustainable businesses.
Sage Pathways activates that ambition in Sage’s hometown by supporting those who have had a break from work, including those who have been hit by the covid crisis, through redundancy or who left employment in the early stages of the pandemic.
It helps by providing an opportunity to re-enter the working world supported by professional resources, expertise and career assistance.
For those seeking more information on the opportunities available, and to build their skills and knowledge to apply for a job, the Sage Pathways programme is hosting a special, live online event:
Sage Pathways event - 13 July 2021
Specifically for those in the North East, the Sage Pathways customer services event will help returners learn about Sage roles offering permanent, flexible positions and nine months of training and support to start the journey. The event also includes coaching sessions to help potential applicants build work-readiness skills.
Helen Devanny, VP Sage Foundation, said: “We are delighted to run the Sage Pathways programme again, which works to break down the barriers people face when they are trying to re-enter the workplace. By helping people build their confidence and recruitment readiness, and providing flexible, supported role opportunities, we hope to give people pathways to a new future.
“This is a great opportunity for job seekers but also supports our own ambition to become a more diverse and inclusive employer.”
