Now you're ready to start taking payments

  1. Enter the purchase amount.
  2. Present your iPhone to the customer.
  3. Your customer holds their card horizontally or their device over the contactless symbol at the top of your iPhone for a few seconds.
  4. When you see the Done tick, the card read is complete and the transaction is being processed.

Frequently asked questions

To start using Tap to Pay on iPhone:

  1. Go to Invoicing in your Sage Accounting app.
  2. Connect your Stripe account to your Sage business, or follow the steps to create one.
  3. Enable Tap to Pay on iPhone in your account settings.

Make sure your device supports this feature - you’ll need an iPhone XS or later running iOS 16.4 or newer.

You can accept all major contactless payments, including debit and credit cards, Apple Pay and other digital wallets.

*Encrypted card numbers are temporarily stored on (the merchant’s) iPhone only for transactions made in Store and Forward mode. Tap to Pay on iPhone requires a supported payment app and the latest version of iOS. Update to the latest version by going to Settings > General > Software Update. Tap Download and Install. Some contactless cards may not be accepted by your payment app. Transaction limits may apply. The Contactless Symbol is a trademark owned by and used with permission of EMVCo, LLC.
