What is the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD)?
The TNFD was established in response to the growing need to factor nature into financial and business decisions. It is a global, market-led initiative that has developed a risk- management and disclosure framework for organisations to report and act on evolving nature-related risks and opportunities. The aim is to support a shift in global financial flows away from nature-negative outcomes and toward nature-positive outcomes. The initiative recognises that halting and reversing nature loss, achieving nature-positive outcomes, and mitigating and managing nature-related risks will only be possible with cooperation and deep investigation.
Large and small businesses across supply chains and financial institutions of all types are now collectively identifying, assessing, managing, and disclosing nature-related dependencies, impacts, risks, and opportunities.
