What is market capitalization?

1 min read

Market capitalization is the total dollar market value of all of a company’s outstanding shares. It is calculated by multiplying the company’s shares outstanding by the current price of one share of stock. Investors use this metric to assess a company’s size, in place of sales or total asset figures.
