If you haven’t had a chance to explore it yet, here’s a quick rundown of the most valuable updates—and why they matter.

- Lien Waivers, Leveled Up: Automate for Secondary Vendors
- Speed + Accuracy: Smarter Time & Materials Billing

- Introducing WIP History: Trends, Transparency, and Better Exports
- A New Map: Reorganized Menus for Projects and Time
- Little Tweaks, Big Impact: Usability Improvements Our Customers Asked For
- Wrapping Up: A Release That Listens
See the Whole Story: New Primary Document Details Tab
Imagine opening a subcontract or purchase order and seeing a complete financial snapshot—dollars invoiced, retainage held and released, AP bills generated, and every payment made—all in one place. That’s exactly what the new Primary Document Details tab brings to life.
It’s like giving your finance team x-ray vision into every document. With line-by-line details, exportable data, and a handy Refresh All Data button, you can instantly reconcile changes or review prior activity without the spreadsheet shuffle.
Bonus: It works retroactively—just hit Refresh All Data on older documents to populate the data.
Heads-up: These new fields won’t appear in reports or printed templates until R3. But when they do, expect even more power at your fingertips.
Lien Waivers, Leveled Up: Automate for Secondary Vendors
Lien waivers can be a compliance minefield. The R2 release offers a lifeline with automated lien waiver generation for secondary vendors—so your back office doesn’t get bogged down in manual processes.
You decide the rules: generate on invoices, on joint checks, on all payments, or a mix. It’s all configurable and controllable. Just be mindful of overlapping compliance definitions to avoid a flood of waivers you didn’t plan on.
Speed + Accuracy: Smarter Time & Materials Billing
Tired of the sluggish invoice generation for large T&M projects? You’re not alone. This release addresses performance head-on, allowing up to 4,000 expenses per transaction without grinding your system to a halt.
Even better, a new Update Totals workflow ensures your invoices reflect real-time data—no more recalculating midstream. You get full control over retainage and billing, with fewer surprises and cleaner execution.
Note, that changes to “retainage percent,” “retainage to hold,” “retainage to bill,” and “total to bill this period” need to be added after the Update Totals button has been clicked to prevent an override that will reset these fields to the calculated amount.
Duplicate Smarter: Task Mapping That Sticks
Setting up T&M contracts just got a whole lot faster. When duplicating a project contract, you can now retain task mapping—no need to re-link hundreds of tasks by hand. If your new project has the same structure as your template, it’s a plug-and-play experience.
This is a major time-saver, especially for teams working with standardized project templates. And for those automating at scale, a new REST API lets you programmatically map tasks without ever touching the UI.
Introducing WIP History: Trends, Transparency, and Better Exports
WIP management just got a facelift. The new WIP History view gives you a filterable, exportable, read-only snapshot of your WIP schedules—perfect for seeing trends over time, analyzing profit fade, or filtering by project manager.
Now, you can find the export option on the WIP History page instead of the WIP schedule where it was previously located.
This view complements the existing WIP schedule editor, and its export has officially replaced the old one—because frankly, it’s just better.
You can now:
- Track changes in profit margins across months
- Filter by any field (including PM!)
- Export clean, math-friendly data that’s ready for reporting or analysis
- Use a built-in view in WIP History that can be used to export a WIP schedule in the required WIP import format (this makes imports easier!)
A New Map: Reorganized Menus for Projects and Time
To pave the way for time tracking enhancements in future releases, the Time and Projects menus have been reorganized. Time now lives in its own application, while project-related configuration has been streamlined for easier navigation.
You’ll find tools like Change Management and Project Contracts right up top where they belong—no more scrolling to find what you need.
Little Tweaks, Big Impact: Usability Improvements Our Customers Asked For
Sometimes, it’s the small things that pack the biggest punch. R2 includes a collection of thoughtful tweaks driven by user feedback:
- Smart Rules and Events for compliance records give you more automation muscle (though they activate only after opening or editing system-generated records).
- Post & Continue / Draft & Continue buttons in project change orders let you stay on the page instead of bouncing back to a list.
- You can now add contract lines directly from a change request, depending on how your contract line source settings are configured.
- Change requests also now auto-filter project selections, making dropdowns faster and more relevant.
Wrapping Up: A Release That Listens
What makes this release stand out isn’t just the features—it’s the intention behind them. Nearly every update in 2025 R2 was inspired by user feedback, real-world workflows, and a deep understanding of what construction finance teams truly need.
Whether you’re streamlining billing, digging into your data, or setting up repeatable processes at scale, this release is here to help you work smarter—not harder.
Stay tuned for R3, where even more reporting and document enhancements are on the way.
