Glossary definition

What is a Science-Based Target (SBT)?

Science-Based Targets (SBTs) are targets set by businesses to reduce their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. They provide a clearly defined pathway for reduction, helping prevent the worst impacts of climate change, and future-proof business growth. Targets are considered science-based if they algin with the scale of reduction required to limit global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.
