What is a supply chain?

A supply chain is a system or network of individuals, organisations, resources, activities and technology involved in creating a product – from gathering the source materials to be used by the manufacturer until eventual distribution to the customer.

Supply chains can range in size and complexity but are inextricably linked to the success of a business.
